The Weekend To-Do: We’re bucking the Twilight trend with a dog fashion show, a Baroque-themed party and more sample sales
What do tacos, dogs and private shopping parties have in common? They’re all What’s On this weekend. Pick up a one-of-a-kind designer gift from Ikea, go for baroque in Edmonton, or take four-legged bff to a canine couture fashion show. Woof. See our weekend to-do list »

The Weekend To Do: We’re hitting up Toronto’s new Monocle outpost, catching A$AP Rocky in Vancouver and screening the new Diana Vreeland documentary
With FASHION’s 35th Anniversary blow-out party behind us and Toronto Fashion Week ahead of us, we’re going to be indulging in a lot of R&R this weekend, with an emphasis on beauty sleep. Take it easy peasy with a trip to the Art Gallery of Ontario, a shopping trip to Monocle and a documentary about […]

The Weekend To-Do: We’re celebrating Thanksgiving by shopping, fashion show-going and drinking Alexander Keith’s beer
Traditionally this weekend has always been about the turkey dinner and the turkey drop (may you not be on the receiving end). Beware the tryptophan-induced food coma because this long weekend there are plenty of fashionable, non-turkey related things to get up to: shopping sprees at the mall, runway shows in the prairies and the birthday of a beer baron.

The Weekend To-Do: We’re hitting Pop Montreal, meeting Rachel Roy in Vancouver and shopping the Dundas West Sidewalk Sale in Toronto
Fall is in full swing here at FASHION and although the abrupt temperature drop was quite harsh there’s not much to do but embrace this glorious autumn weather. Tomorrow’s Dundas West Sidewalk Sale is the perfect opportunity to don that favourite knit of yours you’ve been itching to throw on all summer. For those of […]

The Weekend To-Do: We’re savouring the second last weekend of summer by hitting Vancouver’s farmers markets, Montreal’s film festival and Toronto’s teen-inspired basement party
The weekend before Labour Day is always bittersweet. All the guilty pleasures of summer—ice cream, bike rides, afternoons at the beach—are quickly slipping through our fingers. But let’s stay in denial a little while longer, shall we? This weekend we’re picnicking on the west coast, exploring the Junction after dark and staying out past curfew at a teen-themed party.

The Weekend To-Do: We’re hitting Toronto’s annual CNE and shopping several online-come-warehouse sales!
Sad but true, August is already halfway over. On the bright side, it’s time for back-to-school shopping (and the working girl’s equivalent). This fall our wardrobes are practically begging for a new pair of jeans, graphic print jackets, designer shoes and of course the invaluable cocktail dress, all of which you’ll find at pop-up warehouse sales and street festivals this weekend. See you at the checkout.

The Weekend To-Do: A folk fest out west, a big-city flea market, the must-see movie of the moment and more!
The fall collections may have already hit store floors but don’t fret; there’s still plenty of time for days on the beach and nights on the patio. And this weekend there’s also a big-city flea market, a Prairie folk festival, a big closing ceremony and some contemporary Spanish design to check out. Olé!

The Weekend To-Do: Music festivals for all, Free People opens in Toronto and fireworks worth checking out in Vancouver
A wise woman from Michigan once said, “Music makes the people come together.” Those six words have never rung truer than this weekend, when thousands from across the land will assemble in parks for a tradition as old as time: the music festival. And for those more into crowd-dodging than crowd-surfing, there’s summer fireworks by the ocean and a cuter-than-cute rom-com at the movies. Take your pick.

The Weekend To-Do: Toronto gets a pop-up shop brunch, new music from Edmonton makes us swoon and don’t forget about the Olympics, of course!
Plippity-ploppity goes the rain, and pippity-poppity goes the shopping. This weekend, when we’re not watching designer-clad athletes dodge raindrops in London, we’re checking out temporary shops across the country. Popping up in unlikely locales, get your wardrobe fix everywhere from frescoed-in-spray-paint back alleys to restaurants best known for their house-music brunch service. But who wants house music when you have the latest band from Edmonton on your Rdio?

The Weekend To-Do: TIFF spends summer in France, Vancouver has a Tokyo-style night market and Best Coast brings Californa to Toronto and Montreal
Staycation may be the annoying buzzword of a dreary recessionary summer of 2008, but this weekend it takes a turn for the exotic. Tokyo, Bombay, France, California and Gotham City are all coming to our doorsteps through movies, art, clothing and music. No need to pack your bags, but be sure to wish yourself a bon voyage—at least until Monday.

The Weekend To-Do: We’re following Grimes on tour, catching Cannes films in Montreal and checking out Toronto’s retail happenings
Despite being in full Fall 2012 mode during the week—the September Fall Trends issue of FASHION just wrapped—on the weekend it’s all about the summer lovin’. We’ve got new stores and pop-up shops to check out, movies imported from Cannes to watch, and a rooftop barbecue party to attend. Oh, and Grimes is in basically every town.

The Weekend To-Do: We hit Toronto’s pop-up tuck shop, Vancouver’s Playland festival and watch Serena van der Woodsen and Tim Riggins collide on the big screen
Record-breaking temperatures got you feeling like a wilted flower? Down some H2O and resist the urge to camp out next to an A/C vent, because the weekend is finally here. Shop for vintage and designer summer wares, contemplate the Wild West as interpreted by painters and photographers and watch worlds collide when Serena van der Woodsen meets Tim Riggins in SoCal. XOXO.
