Runway to Real Life: 5 products are all you need to try Phillip Lim’s silver and pink look for spring!
When Phillip Lim created his Spring 2012 collection, fond memories of his childhood hobby of constructing and flying kites translated into a feeling of lightness and fun in his predominantly pastel collection. Models breezed down the runway wearing icy cool silver stripes of eyeshadow that perfectly complemented the fluttering fabric
The beauty look is really fresh and easy, so there isn’t much adjusting required to rock it in real life. You can recreate the eyes almost exactly—but add your own twist with a flush of pink on your cheeks and a creamy sheen to your lips. It’s a look that will breathe fresh air into your summer makeup routine.

Patrick Robinson is out at Gap… but why?
We’re barely halfway into 2011 and the fashion world has already seen our fair share of industry shake-ups: the Galliano scandal, Carine Roitfeld’s exit at Vogue Paris, Christophe Decarnin’s mysterious mental illness/ousting at Balmain, and now Patrick Robinson has been booted from the Gap.
While most of the recent switch ups seem to make sense⎯Galliano’s anti-Semitic outburst couldn’t very well go un-reprehended and Decarnin’s health issues were clearly in need of medical attention⎯we found ourselves puzzled upon hearing the news that Robinson had been presented with a pink slip due to lackluster sales in the first quarter of this year. We’ve seen many a powerhouse figure reinstate retail dinosaurs (Bonnie Brooks at The Bay , Jenna Lyons at J.Crew), so why not Robinson at the Gap?

Fashion news: SJP is Halston’s new prez, Kate Moss probably engaged, and we want to take a nail cruise
It’s official: Sarah Jessica Parker has been named president and chief creative officer at Halston. It’s too early to judge, but Parker seems to have her head on straight with the position. She’s not interested in undermining creative director Marios Schwab, and is frank about her newbie status: “There is a huge amount I don’t know and I am very candid about that, and I am excited to learn.” [WWD]

Mark Fast’s size scuffle, model flops at Phillip Lim and more
Mark Fast’s show at London Fashion Week is causing a stir for his use of three average-sized models. Two staff members–the stylist and creative designer–quit because of the decision. The real upset here is that it’s even a big deal that these girls are giving the rake-thin beanpoles a run for their money. There’s plenty of room on the runway for everyone, right? [Fashionista] [YouTube]
What do you think of Fast’s decision? Do you want to see more realistic sizes on the runway? Tell us in the comments!

Men’s Vogue censors Juergen Teller, McQueen tweets and Phillip Lim makes scent
Men’s Vogue wouldn’t publish a 2006 Juergen Teller-snapped Marc Jacobs ad that featured a gay couple kissing. Starring in the ad was runway makeup artist (and lifetime crush of our beauty editor) Dick Page. The U.S. publication of Marc Jacobs Advertising 1998-2009 by Juergen Teller comes out next week. The Moment parses the undead style on Being Human. For us, the best vampire fashion moment belongs to Eric’s tracksuit-and-highlights makeover on True Blood. [The Moment]
ANTM’s Miss J Alexander is releasing a book–Follow the Model: Miss J’s Guide to Unleashing Presence, Poise and Power–that promises to be both helpful and juicy. We are most looking forward to the guide to Karl Lagerfeld. [Fashionista]

New York: Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Tory Burch and Anna Sui Fall 2009
How did my Thursday begin? With substance and a touch of glamour at Michael Kors. Think neo-classics, sculptural details, lean trousers, graphic bareness and lots of golden camel and olive green. (And of course, black—the go-to shade for the chic elite.)
