FASHION Plates: Animal magnetism
While animal prints—leopard, zebra, snake—never really go out of style, this season we’re dealing with a whole other beast… literally. From cute little bunnies to fearsome felines, animals ran wild on fall runways. That clever little fox is one of our absolute faves, and with representations from fast-fashion H&M to luxury leather label Mulberry joining this fashion pack, there’s a little something for everyone.

Celeb poll: Part II of our best dressed roundup from Cannes. Who’s your favourite?
Though it proved to be a challenge, last week we picked our list of the top ten best dressed stars at the 64th Annual Cannes Film Festival and asked you to vote for your favourite look. In the end, Vanessa Hudgens, Diane Kruger and Sarah Jessica Parker came out on top wearing Roberto Cavalli, Calvin Klein and Elie Saab respectively. This week, we bring you our best dressed at Cannes Part II — because one list just wasn’t enough. Gowns by Roberto Cavalli and Chanel dominated the red carpet over the past week, but who rocked their gown the best? Check out the gallery and cast your vote!

Dispatch from Milan: The blues (and George Clooney) at Giorgio Armani
GIORGIO ARMANI Spring 2011. Photography by Peter Stigter It’s the last day of Milan Fashion Week. Am I blue? Not at all, but Giorgio Armani certainly is as he closed the week with a calm, serene show full of dark, inky hues. The collection mixed a new silhouette of short cropped jackets layered over long skirts and dresses, or, sometimes, over shorter skirts and narrow pants. With sheer fabrics, turban hats, flat sandals, a ruffle here and sequins there, Mr. Armani had his audience enraptured. (George Clooney in the front row didn’t hurt.)
Calm seemed to be the word of the day.

Fashion news: Kate Moss speaks, Madonna to launch lingerie, and US Airways loses lots of vintage Gucci
It’s always a treat to hear models speak. One who rarely seems to chat for the cameras is Kate Moss, so it’s a double treat to hear her talk about her collaboration with Longchamp, what keeps her grounded and her most poignant fashion moment. [Jezebel]
Yesterday at an event at Macy’s for Lourdes’ Material Girl line her mama Madonna revealed plans to launch a workout and lingerie collection for adults. [WWD]

Fashion news: The World Cup trophy’s luxe home, Christian Lacroix has a new gig and Victoria’s Secret for Halloween
Photography by Action Images, courtesy of Louis Vuitton The World Cup was handed over to the victorious Spanish football team in a Louis Vuitton case. We’re glad to see that when it isn’t in the hands of sweaty European soccer players, the trophy keeps it luxe.

Fashion news: D&G answer your Q’s, the most requested haircut of all time and happy birthday to the bra
Dolce & Gabanna now celebrate the 20th anniversary of their menswear. Photography by Peter Stigter Why pay professionals to fix an ailing marriage when Heidi Klum and Seal can do it for you? A Project Runway spin-off will consist of just that. Thank you Lifetime TV. [The Cut]

Fashion news: Roberto Cavalli cleared of tax fraud charges, LV designs a World Cup trunk and Naomi Campbell is human after all
Photography by Peter Stigter After eight years, Roberto Cavalli has cleared his name with the Italian authorities for tax fraud charges. The designer has been in and out of the courtroom for after the initial 2002 accusation that he remodeled his uber-luxurious Tuscan villa and charged the costs to his company. Despite two prison sentences (neither of which he served) Cavalli can happily lounge in his villa as a free man. [WWD]
“It can feel lonely. It can feel like you’re around a thousand people but you’re around no one at the same time,” said Naomi Campbell when Oprah prodded her about her ongoing violent streak on yesterday’s show. “There are times where I don’t want to walk on a red carpet but I have to because I’m contracted to. It’s like we don’t have feelings, but we are — we’re humans, but it’s — I don’t know.” Someone pass her a tissue. [The Cut]

Dispatches from Milan: A kerfuffle at Cavalli, ’70s glam at Gucci, bell bottoms at Pucci and more
EMILIO PUCCI Fall 2010. Photography by Peter Stigter Okay, while there’s a big kerfuffle going on at Roberto Cavalli (I ‘m hearing it’s over Lindsay Lohan, and Courtney Love) let me take a minute and think way back to see if I can possibly absorb all I’ve seen today and yesterday. Since I last blogged, I’ve been to showrooms, presentations and shows too numerous to list. Here are some highlights:
