LFW diary: Kristen Stewart and Kate Moss at Mulberry, plus the scoop on Peter Jensen, Topshop, Acne, and Tom Ford
Mulberry shot by Antonio de Moraes Barros Filho/WireImage Ice cream, pink lemonade, and nearly 2,000 balloon animals aren’t typical ways to start a Sunday morning—but then we only get to start our day off with a Mulberry fashion show but twice a year. This show is always a big ticket of LFW, for its prime guest list (um, today’s show included Kristen Stewart AND Kate Moss, who wore a Canadian tuxedo and a brown hat!), super-luxe venue (the upscale Claridges Hotel in the tony Mayfair neighbourhood), dogs on the runway (this season: miniature schnauzers), and, obviously, the fact that the brand is one of the fastest-growing luxury brands out there. Another way to start the day: sequins, and yet another sorbet palette of yellow, green, and pink.

True Blood recap: We take wardrobe cues from Lafayette’s head scarf, Marnie/Antonia’s talisman necklaces and what Jessica wore to meet the sun
Well, last week the sexual tension finally got some relief with a spared-from-staking Eric reunited in a patch of moonlight to get it on with Sookie. That’s about the only good thing that happened, with Jesus almost dying from a Grandpa-inflicted snake bite, Tommy having sex with Sam’s girl Luna while shifted into a Sam clone, and Antonia getting full control of Marnie’s body. Looks like there’s trouble ahead, so let’s just hope they give us a bit more Sookie and Eric before the inevitable chaos.
Kill Bill
-Bill’s guard, sometime-lover, and witch-undercover Katerina gets killed by an under-Antonia’s-control Sheriff Luis.
-Marnie/Antonia (let’s just call her Antonia here on in; bad tabloid names like Martonia or Antarnienia, are so ’00s) escapes from King Bill’s while Luis goes and shoots him full of silver before self-staking.
-Not to worry, this isn’t a Who Shot J.R.? Situation. Bill fully survives, and now he knows what Antonia is up to.
-Bill has Jessica over to tell her about Antonia and her powers—do we really need Jessica asking dumb questions to explain to us what’s going on? Is this a mid-season catch-up for those who haven’t been watching? Boring.
-Bill instructs his remaining sheriffs to silver themselves and tell all others to flee the state. (Hmmm, why just this state? Does she only hate Louisiana vamps?) They question his orders. (Ugg, are they really that dumb?) Also, why isn’t he calling Nan Flanagan? Doesn’t he tell her like, everything? Maybe they speed-texted.

They said/We said: John Galliano’s Topshop collaboration, true or false?
Photography by Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images The media just can’t get enough of John Galliano. Last month Cathy Horyn speculated that he would be reappointed to his signature label, claims that were soon proven untrue after Bill Gaytten got the job as creative director (and let’s see how long that lasts). Today, new rumours have surfaced that the former Dior designer has a new gig.
After designing Kate Moss’s wedding dress and making an unexpected appearance at the nuptials last week, Vogue UK reported that Galliano was in talks with Topshop CEO Sir Philip Green regarding a possible collaboration with the high-street megastore. According to the magazine’s website, a collection similar to the one Moss did a few years back was possibly brought up in conversation between Green and Galliano at the supermodel’s wedding.
So, is there any truth to the rumours? All signs are pointing to no. Both Green and Topshop denied any negotiations, and even though Galliano fans would still jump at the chance to own his designs at an affordable price point, it seems an alignment with the designer now still feels too risky. So, what’s everyone saying?

FASHION plates: Patti Smith
By Randi Bergman and Jordan Porter
In the world of icons, it truly doesn’t get any better than Patti Smith. We’d confess our undying devotion to the singer’s lyrics, voice, style, heart, poems and just about anything else she is responsible for (and let us tell you, there’s a lot). The recently released book of never-before-seen images, Patti Smith 1969-1976 by Judy Linn, breathes new life into her everlasting stylistic impact by showing her just before she hit the big time. We channeled Smith’s impact in the best way we know how, shopping in the name of!

Celeb poll: Vote for your favourite dress from the Met Gala!
The Met Gala, the annual celebration of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art‘s summer Costume Institute exhibit, is loosely known as the Oscars of fashion. This year, models of the moment, editrixes, big-deal designers, as well as fashion-crowd approved pop stars and actresses flocked to the famed red steps in the name of Alexander McQueen, the subject of this years exhibit entitled Savage Beauty. While the designer’s famed creations didn’t dominate the carpet quite as we had hoped (but more on that later), there were lots of juicy bright hues (Zoe Saldana and Ginnifer Goodwin), ladylike lace (Rihanna, Taylor Swift), anything-but-basic black (Christina Ricci, Ashley Olsen, Stella McCartney), and plenty of glitzy gowns (Gwyneth Paltrow, Diane Kruger) to feast our eyes on.
As for our faves? We loved Diane in her up-to-there Jason Wu gown, and Liv Tyler in her breathtaking feathered Givenchy couture. And you?

FASHION plates: Bianca Jagger
By Randi Bergman and Jordan Porter
With the glitz, glamour and decadence of the seventies virtually dominating our psyches as of late, we cant help but keep coming back to the one of the decade’s brightest stars: Bianca Jagger. Famous for her marriage to Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger, exotically high cheekbones, love for all things Halston and penchant for making an entrance⎯Jagger entered her 32nd birthday party at famed club Studio 54 perched on a white horse⎯there weren’t many women more fabulous than she. In honour of this week’s muse, we giddily e-shopped our little Jagger-loving hearts out.
