Toronto fashion darling Kimberley Newport-Mimran revealed she will be expanding her Pink Tartan line from the confines of the department store by opening her first Pink Tartan flagship this fall. Fashion news: The Bay partners with ANDAM, pick through Carrie Bradshaw’s closet and model mayhem on Wall St.
image courtesy of Express It’s a good day for Canadian fashion, The Bay has just announced its place as a partner in the National Association for the Development of the Fashion Arts (ANDAM) Fashion award. “Partnering with ANDAM is a huge stride for Canada as a fashion authority and resource,” said The Bay’s fashion director, Suzanne Timmins. The ANDAM Fashion award is the world’s largest international fashion prize. Two of this year’s finalists include Canadians Mark Fast and Calla Haynes. The competition is open to fashion designers of any nationality under the age of 40 who plan to show and develop their collections in France.
According to Forbes’ Highest Paid Model list, Brazilian beauty Gisele Bündchen rakes in more cash than any other model. Interestingly, the order of this year’s list is identical to last year’s. Coincidence or copy and paste? [The Cut]

Burberry is launching a 30-piece April Showers collection this month to keep customers shopping until the first fall 2010 deliveries hit stores in June, and providing items that are apropos to April: trench coats, rain boots and umbrellas. [Coutorture]
If Fashion’s Night Out had a slogan, it would be bigger is better, because that’s where the organizers’ heads are at. The event will supposedly be the biggest fashion show ever put on in New York, with 200 models walking, with 1,500 seats for oglers. [Fashionista]
Nail polish specialist Essie has been bought by L’Oréal USA, who has plans to expand the brand into cosmetics and eventually bring it to the mass market. [WWD]

A 13-minute film noir starring Agyness Deyn has just been released. Titled Mean To Me, the short flick is set in the 1930s with vintage-style gowns courtesy of Zac Posen. [StyleList]
Although Naomi Campbell reportedly struck again (sorry for the pun), no legal action will be taken. The supermodel was questioned by the NYPD after allegedly slapping and punching her driver, and slapped with a harrasment report, which doesn’t have any penalties or subsequent charges. [Vogue UK]

She told the crowd at Parsons The New School for Design last week: “When I launched my company, the shows were in April and May, now they’re in February. So my question to this industry, and I say it to myself for my own company: ‘Why am I showing clothes in February?’ I don’t want the consumer to see next week what is going to be in stores in Fall, because it’s confusing.” [My Fashion Life]
