While bushy eyebrows may not yet be synonymous with beach babes, bronzed skin and smoky, dark features were a staple at Miami’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2013. At Brazilian label Poko Pano, the beauty was inspired by youthful beach goddesses. Make Up For Ever Alliance artist James Vincent served as key makeup artist for the show and created a look that pulled from the metallic trend that’s dominated traditional runways the last two seasons—but did so with the goal of making it beach-ready and “appropriate for everyday.” After applying smoky layers of Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream in a selection of taupe and brown shades, he accented with a hit of gold and bronze.

Chanel has a new (limited edition, obvs) blue nail polish for sale! View their entire summer sky-inspired makeup collection
Chanel continues to prove that its vision of air travel remains much better than our reality, with a limited edition makeup collection inspired by their Spring 2012 Couture show. Based on shades of blue from a “cloud-strewn sky,” the nine-piece collection includes a full spectrum of inky to iridescent shades, in eyeshadows, liners and—our favourite—a nail polish. The pale, pearly blue Le Vernis is called “Sky Line” and made its debut on Chanel’s airplane aisle runway back in January. The complete Blue Illusion de Chanel collection is available July 23 at select counters in Canada: Holt Renfrew and the Chanel boutique on Toronto’s Bloor Street, and at Holt Renfrew in Vancouver.

If shopping is your mood booster of choice, listen up: Lush’s highly anticipated, two-years-in-the-making colour collection is taking retail therapy one step further. The forthcoming “Emotional Brilliance” makeup collection was created with a strategic behavioural therapist, resulting in a product line that’s named to reflect psychological needs.
The collection, which will boast 13 liquid lip colours, 11 liquid eyeliners and six cream eyeshadows (all priced at $23—way cheaper than most therapists’ going rate), is described as a way to “fulfill an emotional need at any give moment.”
