Street Style, London: 54 fun shots from outside Fashion Week’s jampacked weekend of Fall 2014 shows
See the street style looks from London Fashion Week Fall 2014 »
After the tundra-like conditions of New York Fashion Week, the fair weather in London seemed practically tropical for fashion editors and bloggers alike. Shedding their heavy fur and parkas, the outfits at the Fall 2014 shows were playful and outerwear was shot with bright colour and done in shorter lengths.
Euro street style star Yasmin Sewell was the hit of the weekend, proving when in doubt, add more colour. She was first seen in a colour blocked black and orange duster with silver pumps and a blue turtleneck and then later in a gorgeous yellow silk skirt, burgundy platform sandals and a fuzzy blue pullover. Harley Viera Newton meanwhile toughened up a cutesy pink rose patterned dress, with a matching bomber and black accessories. That recognizable pop-art jacket from Prada’s Spring 2014 collection, sported by many at NYFW, including Giovanna Battaglia, made the the jump across the pond as well as numbers from previous collections, including Spring 2012’s coveted car print clutch.

Street Style, New York: A blizzard can’t keep fashionable attendees (including Jared Leto!) from the Fall 2014 shows
Just when we thought the weather couldn’t get any worse! After a week of chilly temps but not much snow, Snowstorm Pax brought its arctic fury to the streets of Manhattan for the last day of New York Fashion Week. The scene outside the Fall 2014 shows was one of attendees bundled up from head to toe, so it was fitting then that most of the shows yesterday—J. Mendel, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren all included—sent out strong furry looks, perfect for braving the snow. If our recent season of snowstorms is looking to become a reoccurring trend, we will be needing a whole lot of fur come this time next year.
Given the veritable blizzard going on, hats were the necessary accessory du jour. Miroslava Duma and Nasiba Adilova channelled their native land looking like life-sized Russian nesting dolls, each with their embroidered scarf as headgear. André Leon Talley was even sporting a toque and burgundy snakeskin gloves to stop the cold – you know it’s serious when the King of Fabulousness goes practical. But there was no hat worthy of crowing Jared Leto’s expertly ombré-d head – nothing can stop those luscious locks. Not even a havoc-inducing blizzard.

With New York Fashion Week coming to a close, we’re sure attendees are already looking forward to
greenerwarmer pastures. (After London, that is!) But editors and bloggers didn’t let the exhausting week and chilly temps slow them down, as you’ll see in today’s batch of street style photos. Mixing graphic accessories and sneakers, stylish show goers kept things fun and bright with statement pastels and playful accessories.Preetma Singh and Anna Dello Russo kept the week’s fur trend alive, but livened it up with mismatched prints and textures. Giovanna Battaglia and several off–duty models, Soo Joo Park included, channelled Monster’s Inc. with Sully-like tufted fur coats and graphic cartoon character bags. Miroslava Duma and Leandra Medine both went for animal print outerwear while Perez Hilton (sure, why not?) showed his patriotic side in a graphic stars and stripes outfit. We prefer the Hudson’s Bay blanket coat we spotted, but that might just be our Canadian loyalty showing through.

Street Style, New York: 50 photos of colourful fur, Team Canada mittens and statement coats at the Fall 2014 shows
It’s been almost a full week of New York Fashion Week Fall 2014 shows and we were beginning to wonder if the fashion elite had any tricks left up their sleeves when it came to cold weather dressing. There are only so many ways you can stay warm and stylish, right? Nope! Today’s batch of street style photos from photographer Stefania Yarhi take outwear to new heights with mixes of colourful fur, dashes of metallic sheen and noteworthy footwear.
Preetma Singh, Eva Chen and several other fashion go-ers showed off panelled fur vests and jackets, all picking up on the colour-blocking trend while staying warm in the process. Warming our hearts, on the other hand, was the abundance of Hudson’s Bay Team Canada mittens spotted on the streets of New York—Olympic spirit is always in style! Alexa Chung looked positively Bowie-esque in a futuristic iridescent coat—while simultaneously keeping it ladylike with a prim purse. Ece Sükan went for an ’80s throwback vibe, mixing a cinched mod leather jacket with a bold gold skirt peeking out from underneath.

Street Style, New York: 52 photos of Hudson’s Bay stripes, spring-worthy layers and ’90s style outside the Fall 2014 shows
Despite the still-cold, still-snowy conditions in New York City, yesterday the fashion set threw caution to the chilly wind and made like it was spring. Breezy layers, exposed legs and bright colours continued to be popular street style choices outside Monday’s Fall 2014 shows, which included Carolina Herrera, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Theory. There were obviously some people who heeded their mother’s advice from years gone by and bundled up—but even then a colourful, strappy shoe or sheer layer helped liven the look up.
In today’s batch of photos, our photographer Stefani Yarhi did a little stripe spotting, capturing two colourful Hudson’s Bay blanket coats in Monday’s street style mix. Also wearing a rainbow of colour was Helena Bordon, in head-to-toe Spring 2014 Prada including the coveted pop art-inspired jacket, athletic shin socks and an embellished skirt. Leandra Medine wore a gorgeous tangerine duster, done in ’90s minimalism with high-waisted denim and an off-white turtleneck and sweater.

Street Style, New York: We spot Jenna Lyons, Miroslava Duma, Olivia Palermo and more outside the Fall 2014 shows
While many of us spent the weekend huddled inside watching the Sochi action, New York Fashion Week kept editors, bloggers and fashion lovers out and about in the cold for the Fall 2014 shows. With all the commuting between venues—from Manhattan to Brooklyn and back again—cozy outerwear and slush-proof footwear was essential.
Fur continues to be a huge trend outside the tents, with everything from bright-blue faux to ’70s shearling to a mod Isabel Marant racoon coat being snapped by our street style photographer, Stefania Yarhi. Eva Chen kept things light and youthful in a super fluffy snowman-esque coat and rainbow-metallic kicks, while Jenna Lyons effortlessly worked the quirky mismatched-yet-tailored style she pioneered.

Street Style, New York: Fashion Week begins! 35 photos of cold weather-proof style outside the Fall 2014 tents
Let the games begin! No, we’re not talking about the Olympics: yesterday officially marked the opening of New York Fashion Week Fall 2014, aka the beginning of Fashion Month. It’s basically a four-week-long endurance test for the fashionable jet set—those of the faint of heart need not apply.
The Thursday shows included many up-and-coming designers, like Marissa Webb and Todd Snyder, as well as more established brands, such as BCBGMax Azria and Coach. Outside the tents in New York, our street style photographer Stefania Yarhi captured fashion show go-ers were bundled up against the elements with statement coats and attention grabbing accessories. With the big-ticket shows still to come, fashion’s big guns—think Anna Wintour and Miroslava Duma—weren’t spotted on the snow-covered streets. However, Gwyneth Paltrow’s new BFF, Taylor Tomasi Hill, was more than happy to brave the cold—her signature flaming-red hair likely helping to keep her warm.

In our last peek at the goings on outside Spring 2014 Couture Week, we’re treated to an appearance by Paris’s brightest star: La Tour Eiffel. Captured in several of today’s street style shots, the iconic tower has come out to bid us adieu on a cloudy grey day. Too much rhyme-y franglais? Anyways. There’s plenty of luxe to intake in today’s photos, from the countless furs to this Dries Van Noten coat to Lindsey Wixson’s PS11. But why put words to it when you can just voir it yourself? Hahaha.

Yesterday’s Chanel show went from the runway and beyond on the streets outside Spring 2014 Couture Fashion Week. Outside the Grand Palais, Karl Lagerfeld’s preferred Paris venue, Chanel was the label of choice for models, editors and just all around It girls striving for new and improved takes on those famed double Cs.
Model of the moment Soo Joo, fresh of the Chanel runway, bravely showed some leg in knee high socks, a black fur shearling coat, and sculpted Chelsea boots. Joan Smalls, happily fresh faced, looked the part of a stylish ‘80s rocker in a chic denim, leather and fur combo.

Street Style, Paris: 17 beautiful shots from outside Couture Fashion Week Spring 2014

With no help from this winter’s especially frigid temps, things are officially heating up for 2014’s first dose of fashion month with much of the international style set in Paris for Spring 2014 Couture Week. Unsurprisingly, much of what we’re seeing on the street outside the shows has to do with protection, as strong and playful outwear serves as a colourful shield against arctic air.
Already fully outfitted in Spring 2014 ready-to-wear, quirky style maven Anna Dello Russo topped her embellished Prada jacket with a matching sugary pink fur Chanel trapper hat and over-the-knee flat white leather boots, an unusual choice for the matriarch of towering heels. Ultra-stylish rapper A$AP Rocky continued his serious fan-boy affection for Raf Simons at the Christian Dior Couture show in a mod button down, leather moto jacket and his signature braids. Talented and fashion-savvy? Our hearts are aflutter.
The Russians were out in droves with Elena Perminova, Miroslava Duma and Anya Ziourova all donning bold coats with matching mock scarf collars. We smell a new trend: Susie Bubble sported a Céline-inspired laundry bag check jacket in soft pastels, matched with an envy-inducing and mesmerizing wavy clutch. Caroline Issa was similarly on point in pastels, effortlessly mixing a button down, jacket and striped pumps, all in varying whimsical shades. Everyone’s favourite kooky Aunt, Grace Coddington, proved that sometimes less is more, choosing only to accessorize her oversized leather coat with her signature hair. If only we could pull off such a look.

Our second batch of street style from Berlin Fashion Week Fall 2014 proves that while the city isn’t yet a spot for the mainstream fashion flock, it delivers on some seriously great photos.
Tempting us with the idea of booking a flight stat, Toronto-based photographer Jaclyn Locke captured the candidly stylish outside the final days of the shows. Round two features a bit of hip-hop flair courtesy of one showgoer sporting a San Francisco snapback, an oversized fur and a Lanvin “Love” necklace. Another took a cue from the very pregnant Kerry Washington at this weekend’s SAG Awards, sporting a baby bump underneath a bright emerald coat.

You know what they say, “It’s always next season somewhere!” Actually, no one says that, but it does feel like fashion week is on one never-ending loop. The latest city to ride the carousel of great street style is Berlin, where the Euro crowd has gathered to take in the first round of Fall 2014. The historic Brandenburg Gate makes for the perfect backdrop of this batch of Berlin Fashion Week shots by Toronto-based photographer Jaclyn Locke, who captured the ladies, gents, peacocks and one apparent living Cabbage Patch Kid doll (seriously that hair is some crazy ish).
