Our favourite fashion voyeurs are at it again. Last night Toronto’s most discernibly trendy gathered at Holt Renfrew’s Bloor Street location for private viewing of The Coveteur’s photo exhibition (which we exclusively previewed) in collaboration with J Brand jeans. The show, which runs until September 17 at Holt Renfrew features intimate snapshots that take us inside the drool-worthy closets of DJ Daisy O’Dell, costume designer Erin Benach (recently in Toronto in conjunction with her work on the new Ryan Gosling flick A Place Beyond The Pines), actress Mickey Sumner (she may just be the daughter of Sting and Trudie Styler) and celebrity stylist Karla Welch. The exhibit also celebrates J Brand’s latest ready-to-wear collection.

Home-grown teen queen and FASHION cover girl Nina Dobrev was back in Toronto this weekend to promote her upcoming flick The Perks of Being a Wallflower at TIFF. As if to be taking the film’s title quite literally, Dobrev donned several stunning floral looks over the course of her TIFF appearances. So stunning in fact, that’s pretty much impossible to choose a favourite. But let’s try, shall we?

At Saturday’s TIFF red carpet premiere, Nina Dobrev wore an Oscar-worthy white Monique Lhuillier gown that featured intricate black floral embroidery. One of the frothy confections that has helped amp up this year’s TIFF celebrations from fairly casual to megawatt, the dress induced jealousy-gasps all around at the film’s after party later that night. (Co-star Emma Watson was also feeling the florals, btw, equally stunning in Erdem.)

As part of Holt Renfrew’s ongoing 175th birthday celebrations the historic Canadian retailer has teamed up with J Brand and the online style-hub The Coveteur to showcase J Brand’s fall collection. We have received an exclusive peek at the gallery created for this event before it goes on display starting Thursday September 13 at Holt Renfrew’s Bloor Street location in Toronto. The photo series will also be on The Coveteur’s website on the same day. In case you’ve been living under a not-super-stylish rock, The Coveteur, founded by designer Erin Kleinberg and stylist Stephanie Mark, is a website that has been going behind the scenes and into the closets of some of the world’s most influential style icons, captured by photographer Jake Rosenberg. Some of their recent projects include looking into Vogue Japan’s editor-at-large Anna Dello Russo’s enviable closet full of shoes and sunglasses (fashion shower not included). For this event, they have sneaked a peek into the closets and wardrobes of four fashionable stars (three of whom who are conveniently in town for TIFF).

We’ve been tracking the best TIFF fashion moments, red carpet appearances and party gossip since the festival kicked off four days ago, so it’s time for a little break. A babe break, that is. You see, all weekend Variety has been hosting their annual Variety Studio at Holt Renfrew, and some pretty incredible talent has dropped in to chat about filmmaking. And by pretty incredible we also mean pretty dreamy: we’re talking Alexander Skarsgård, Johnny Depp, Ewan McGregor, Adrian Grenier and Darren Criss. The best part? That was only from day one. The Variety Studio will run until September 11 and even more top-notch TIFF talent is expected. So, kick up your heels and enjoy these pictures—and as TIFF continues we’ll keep you updated on who else is hanging out in the Variety Studio.

Sir Elton John stood before the Weston family and scores of onlookers in Holt Renfrew‘s Bloor Street shoe department on Saturday morning and gave the crowd a highly-charged pep talk.

“I have been coming to Canada since 1970,” declared the singer, in a pink-spangled shirt and dark suit. “I have always found that Canadians give very much not only with their pockets, but with their hearts and their voices. And I’ve always been very touched. And it’s kind of ironic that I’ve ended up with a Canadian,” he said, glancing around to his Scarborough-raised husband David Furnish.

With TIFF kicking off the same week as Fashion’s Night Out, it would seem there’s no rest for the wicked. Cocktail parties, movies and red carpets aside, there are plenty of ways to amuse yourself this weekend, ranging from bevvies and jazz in a Montreal gallery to hobnobbing with a knighted Rocket Man at Holts. What with Holt Renfrew’s limited-edition designer collection and Fashion’s Night Out festivities, we’ve already carved out time to celebrate the high-end mecca’s 175th birthday in style. Now Holt’s has announced yet another addition to their Hot @ 175 festivities (and yet another reason to camp out in front of your nearest Holt’s location): the luxury retailer will be hitting the road in a mobile pop-up shop next month, with specially created sweaters on sale for the occasion by seven internationally celebrated graphic artists.

We might as well pitch a tent and set up camp outside Holt Renfrew’s sleek Bloor Street entrance, because come September, it will be the place to be. Not only is Holt’s taking part in Fashion’s Night Out festivities September 6 (stay tuned for details!), but the store is also ringing in it’s monumental 175th birthday. In true Holt’s fashion, the Hot @175 anniversary will be rung in in style, with a slew of designer collaborations for sale in (what else?) signature magenta.

From its start in 1837 as a hat and cap shop in Quebec City to the go-to luxury mecca it is today, Holt’s has undeniably had a starring role in Canada’s retail legacy. To fête the occasion, everything from high-fashion designs like Christian Louboutin’s magenta-platform sling backs to fun finds like Pantone’s “Holt Renfrew Magenta” notebook will prove that even at 175, Holt’s still has it.

Big deal, small-boned stylist Rachel Zoe hit Holt Renfrew in Vancouver on Thursday afternoon to show off some of her Marianne Faithfull-fueled Fall 2012 collection for fans.

In Q&A with Holts’ Barbara Atkin, Zoe said the last time she visited Vancouver she was 16 years-old and came to go camping. A cloud of consternation came over the crowd, but that cleared up as soon as she admitted she “dressed very inappropriately” in platform shoes with piles of jewellery. Ah, that’s more like the Zoe we know.
