“You can see who has the real power in Paris,” one retailer remarked as we took our seats along with nearly 3,000 others in the Grand Palais for Chanel’s Spring 2011 show. Where other designers have absurdly restrictive guest lists, Chanel has always opened its arms to clients, buyers and press. Although the inclusiveness comes […]

NYFW party pics: Blake Lively, SJP and Claire Danes at the Chanel SoHo fete
What does one wear to a Chanel boutique re-opening party? Chanel, bien sur! Think gold chains by way of belt or bijoux, pearls (and lots of them, darling) and tweed anything. Oh, and keep that palette to a stark black and white. Throw in a camillia or two and you look, well…passable–especially in light of […]

Fashion news: American Apparel sued by investors, Karl in America and Elaine Benes: (apparent) style icon
Camel is back? Get out! Finally the gods of fashion and trends have turned their heads to the goddess of New York in the ’90s: Elaine Benes. image via tmagazine Though it wasn’t part of Alexander McQueen‘s final collection in Paris last spring, feast your eyes on what may have been the last piece that the late designer touched. The silk swan dress, made for long-time pal Annabelle Neilson is a far cry from the more notorious McQueen pieces she’s worn in the past (a sheer jumpsuit, anyone?). She wore this beauty to Elton John’s White Tie and Tiara Ball in June. [T Magazine]
