Fashion news: SJP is Halston’s new prez, Kate Moss probably engaged, and we want to take a nail cruise
It’s official: Sarah Jessica Parker has been named president and chief creative officer at Halston. It’s too early to judge, but Parker seems to have her head on straight with the position. She’s not interested in undermining creative director Marios Schwab, and is frank about her newbie status: “There is a huge amount I don’t know and I am very candid about that, and I am excited to learn.” [WWD]Prada has created their own YouTube channel for screening fashion shows, campaign photos and short films. Fashion news: Crystal Renn outposes in V, McQueen shoes are even scary for models, a B.O. fragrance and more

Photo by Terry Richardson for V. Via Models.com Shots from V‘s upcoming and already over-hyped “plus-size issue” are out. Terry Richardson’s “One Size Fits All” features side-by-side shots of Jacquelyn Jablonski and a not-really-plus-sized Crystal Renn in the same pose in the same outfit. It’s worth noting that Renn out-vogues Jablonski at every turn. [Models.com, via Fashionista]
Fashion stylist is apparently the when-I-grow-up job of the aughts. Except for celebrity stylist, which according to 10 editor Sophia Neophitou is “something you just don’t want to become.” Take that, Zoe-ophytes. [Times UK]

Christopher Bailey wins big and Karen Elson takes a fall at the British Fashion Awards

Burberry designer Christopher Bailey. Photography by Peter Stigter The British Fashion Awards were held in London last night. Christopher Bailey and Burberry were honoured twice: Bailey for British Designer of the Year and his label for Best Designer Brand. During his speech, Bailey announced that he would be showing the Prorsum collection in London again for the fall shows in February. While we were crossing our fingers for the Canadian talent on the nominees list–Mark Fast for emerging ready-to-wear talent and Todd Lynn for Best Menswear Designer–those awards went to Peter Pilotto and Kim Jones for Dunhill, respectively. (Don’t feel too bad for Fast–dressing Julia Restoin-Roitfeld on the red carpet was a win of another kind.)

Kate Moss gets huffy, your ticket to McQueen and Narciso hearts eBay
Kate Moss caused a commotion last night at GQ’s Man of the Year Awards. The model’s attempt to escape out the back entrance backfired when she ran through an interview backstage with rapper Dizzee Rascal. Apparently host James Nesbitt made a jab at Moss about her nude GQ cover, causing her to leave all huffy. [Telegraph]

Dick Page and James Gibbs for Marc Jacobs Fall 2006 Men’s Vogue wouldn’t publish a 2006 Juergen Teller-snapped Marc Jacobs ad that featured a gay couple kissing. Starring in the ad was runway makeup artist (and lifetime crush of our beauty editor) Dick Page. The U.S. publication of Marc Jacobs Advertising 1998-2009 by Juergen Teller comes out next week. If you missed the first Yves Saint Laurent auction in February, there’s a second, smaller sale happening in November. The money will go to charity so there’s really no reason not to snap up Yves’ Mercedes-Benz or Hermès luggage. [Yahoo!]
