What’s in your bag, Gregory Gorgeous?

Photography by Nicole Stafford See what’s inside Gregory Gorgeous’s purse! »
If you’re active in the online beauty world, you definitely know Gregory Gorgeous. His YouTube channel—which features everything from makeup tutorials to discussions about LGBT rights—has an impressive following (44 million video views? No big deal.) and now that the second season of his reality show, The Avenue, has started, he’s certainly on the brink of becoming a household name. Based in Toronto, The Avenue follows Gregory Gorgeous and his equally gorgeous friends as they try to make it in the city—think of it as our version of The Hills. So how does a reality TV and makeup tutorial star stay fabulous all day long? We jumped at the chance to explore Gregory’s Balenciaga Classique bag. Inside we uncovered multiple pairs of sunglasses (Gucci! Celine!), loads of M.A.C lipsticks and glosses, his favourite perfume and a host of other curious things. We don’t use this word often, but if anyone deserves the title of fierce, it’s Gregory Gorgeous.

5 predictions about One Direction’s forthcoming fragrance

Photography courtesy Instagram/1Dagram UPDATE: Read the latest on One Direction’s fragrance »
A million happy tweets were likely launched this morning when news broke that the boy band of the moment, One Direction, have signed a deal to launch a women’s perfume in 2013. WWD noted that this move will put the fivesome into even further competition with Justin Bieber, whose Girlfriend fragrance launched earlier this year. (We’re still impressed that eager fans haven’t stolen all the life-size cardboard cutouts of Bieber from drugstore displays across the country.) Of course, these days a cosmetics empire is almost mandatory for any act with a roster of record-breaking Top 40 hits (just ask Katy Perry, Lady Gaga or Nicki Minaj) so it’s no surprise that One Direction is entering the world of celebrity fragrance. While no details of the scent have been released—other than a tentative fall 2013 launch date—here’s five of our best predictions as to what One Direction fans can look forward to:

Exclusive: Blake Lively talks about Gucci Première and gifting fragrance to family (Is that what will be in Ryan Reynolds’ stocking?)
Watch the exclusive Gucci Première Q&A with Blake Lively »
Blake Lively, who has been the face of Gucci‘s new fragrance, Gucci Première ($78, sephora.com), since its launch, recently spoke about her work with the brand and how her involvement is especially significant during the holiday season.
Some background: The inspiration for this new scent was taken from the brand’s Gucci Première couture collection that debuted at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. The dresses were created for a who’s-who’s of Hollywood’s most glamorous actresses and the perfume aims to celebrate the star in every woman.

Inside Guerlain’s revamped Toronto boutique: Rare perfumes, hand-painted bottles and a bumble bee-inspired exterior

Legendary French fragrance and beauty brand Guerlain revamped its Toronto boutique just in time for the holiday season. The Bloor Street shop (which originally opened in 2003) has changed both inside and out to offer a more spacious shopping experience based on an architectural vision that came directly from Paris. Notably, the exterior façade has been completely redone, taking inspiration from the brand’s emblem, the imperial bee. The iconic bee perfume bottle—which was designed in 1853 for Guerlain’s Impériale Eau de Cologne—is also featured prominently within the store, including a selection of collector-worthy bottles which are hand-painted with gold detailing.

Watch Nicki Minaj transform into a pink-blooded perfume bottle right before your eyes
Nicki Minaj’s first commercial for her Pink Friday fragrance proves, yet again, that she is more than your average human. The 30-second video (set to her song “Freedom” from the album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up) shows a clumsy Minaj pricking herself on a rose thorn and transforming into the fragrance bottle. It’s a little bit freaky, sultry and puzzling all at once.
Unlike most humans, Minaj bleeds pink instead of red and her blood has the ability to change roses’ colour from black to pink and to turn her body gold. It’s like she transforms from a vampire to a gold statue with pink hair right before our eyes.

Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld both have big plans for new fragrances
Prepare your noses, as rumors are circulating that two big fashion icons are making their way into the world of perfume: Both Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld are set to release their own fragrances in the near future.
Lagerfeld seems to be in it for the long haul, as he has just signed a 20-year agreement (that’s a whole lot of perfume!) with Inter Parfums SA, thus ending his current contract with Coty. Set to launch in 2014, Lagerfeld’s new venture will join the likes of Balmain and Burberry who also have fragrances with the company.
However, we can’t tell you as much about Carine Roitfeld’s plans. The editor’s foray into fragrance is just a rumor for now, but Fashionista reported that she has taken out a trademark for an entire range of beauty products called “Forgive Me.”
