Wildfox’s Spring 2013 lookbook makes our Clueless dreams come true
See Wildfox’s Spring 2013 Lookbook inspired by Clueless »
If you’ve watched Clueless a few too many times on Netflix (which, by the way, is impossible), relive the magic with Wildfox’s Spring 2013 lookbook inspired by the film. Aptly named “Kids in America,” the editorial answers a firm “neither!” to Cher Horowitz’s “Do you prefer “fashion victim’ or ‘ensembly challenged?”
The Los Angeles-based brand has taken the culture gem straight out of 1995 and into 2013 with new takes on graphic T-shirts, Cher’s iconic red dress and plaid school girl skirts. Our favourite looks and moments from Clueless have been recreated in a completely shoppable way, so needless to say we’re excited.
Wildfox designer Kimberley Gordon wanted to pay homage to Clueless director Amy Heckerling, saying “I was about 12 around when Clueless came out and I was so in love with the characters, I didn’t just love the clothes, I loved the girls who wore the clothes – which made me want to wear them even more” on her site.

Could the Prabal Gurung for Target collection be the first to be available in Canada? Here’s to wishful thinking…
See the full Prabal Gurung for Target Collection »
The complete look book for Prabal Gurung’s collection for Target spring 2013 capsule collection has been released. With only a few months left before Target opens its first Canadian stores, could this be the first Target designer collaboration available for purchase in Canada? We are certainly hopeful. The exciting 80+ piece collection includes dresses, skirts, blouses, and jackets as well as accessories such as sandals, totes, and jewellery made with Gurung’s signature brightly hued and patterned signature.
In preparing the vibrant spring collection, Prabal Gurung was reportedly inspired by romance and “a girl’s journey through the different stages of love.” Fans of Gurung will recognize his graphic flowery prints that have been re-imagined for a more wearable look. “It was an exciting challenge to interpret my aesthetic into a mass-produced product,” Gurung explained to New York Magazine, “but the collection is true to my signature style.”

Michael Kors Spring 2013 Ad Campaign: Bright hues, thick stripes and fancy cars have us California dreamin’
View the Michael Kors Spring 2013 Ad Campaign »
The Michael Kors Spring 2013 ad campaign images have just hit the web and it has us daydreaming of sunshine and road trips. Models Simon Nessman and Karmen Pedaru (a Kors regular) are featured in the campaign shot by Mario Testino, which marks his 10 year anniversary with Michael Kors.
The shoot took place in Los Angeles and has a classic Americana vibe featuring stripes, sunglasses and muscle cars. The shots perfectly capture the Spring 2013 collection which features sportswear and mod inspired looks. Given that Kors was inspired by California for the collection, we’d say that poolside in Palm Springs would suit this collection perfectly.

Christian Dior Spring 2013 Ad Campaign: See the first photos under Raf Simons’ direction
View the Christian Dior Spring 2013 Ad Campaign »
Christian Dior‘s first ready-to-wear ad campaign under the direction of Raf Simons hit the web this week. And while the images are different from what Dior has done in the past, they are just as eye-catching as Simons’ Spring 2013 runway collection that debuted at Paris Fashion Week last fall.
Photographed by Willy Vanderperre, the campaign has all the Raf Simons hallmarks: understated but with a sense of surreal-ness. Opting to part with John Galliano-favourite Karlie Kloss as campaign frontwoman, Simons opted for a group of lesser known models including Daiane Conterato, Anna Martynova, Daria Strokous, and Marie Piovesan.

See the Joe Fresh Spring 2013 collection »
Joe Fresh may have turned down the colour palette for its Spring 2013 collection but that’s not to say the collection was anything less than visually striking. Metallics, black and white prints infused with pops of yellow came together to create a sixties-inspired collection that was completely modern and ready for 2013.
Now that the rest of the collection for spring has been released, we’re excited to see these retro-inspired designs take form and be mixed in with what we’ve grown accustomed to from Joe Fresh—coloured sweaters, bright oxfords and bold pants.

Check out Rihanna’s looks from the 777 tour »
“Hello! This is 777. Let’s get drunk! I love you!” Rihanna announced into a Boeing 777 PA as the first leg of her tour promoting her newest album, “Unapologetic” took off. The tour, which consists of seven shows in seven countries in seven days, is a lot of performing to say the least. But Rihanna is up for the challenge.
She also told the 200 fans, journalists and her personal entourage, “It will be the coolest thing I’ve ever done.” We won’t disagree with that statement.

Azealia Banks’ “Atlantis” video: We manage to screengrab the 10 best moments of frenetic seapunk
See the best moments from Azealia Banks’ “Atlantis” video » Azealia Banks has put herself in a PC circa 1995 in her newest video for “Atlantis”. With screensaver like visuals straight out of your first computer, Banks dances and raps wearing holographic sunglasses, crop tops with choker necklaces and shiny harem pants. It’s not every day that you get to watch someone ride a dolphin through space or hang out in the mouth of a shark, but in the video for “Atlantis” Azealia Banks has the honour of taking part of these activities (not IRL, in case you were wondering). The 21-year-old has carved a spot for herself in the fashion world with her love of crop tops and perfectly wavy hair, not to mention her model pals like Cara Delevingne and guest star spots at parties for Chanel, H&M’s Anna Dello Russo collab and more.

Top 10 Fashion Trends, Spring 2013: We distill over a month of runway and street style photos into 100 of the season’s strongest moments
See the biggest Spring 2013 fashion trends »
See all of our fashion month coverage »It’s official, Spring 2013 fashion month is over. And after receiving a daily dose of street style photos and runway updates, it would be silly for us to ignore the trends that we saw day after day (after day, after day). It’s hard not to fall victim to sensory overload, but thankfully our street style photographer, Stefania Yarhi, made it easy for us to pick and choose which trends we know we’ll be seeing all spring long. With hundreds of photos from Paris, Milan, London, New York, and Toronto at our disposal, we just couldn’t ignore the countless graphic tops (a day without a Balenciaga sci-fi sweater sighting was a total shocker), exposed bellies, suits, and mixed prints—so we didn’t because we’re positive they will be huge come Spring 2013. We’ve selected 10 of the biggest fashion trends from the streets and the runways and put them together in one place, so gets to clickin’. The leaves may just be starting to fall, but it’s never too early to plan for spring, right? (RIGHT!)

Toronto Fashion Week Spring 2013: Sunny Fong channels Madonna for his latest Vawk and Vawkkin collections
See the Vawk and Vawkkin Spring 2013 collection photos »
On the final night of World Mastercard Fashion Week in Toronto, those that were left standing were treated to a double dose of designer Sunny Fong for Spring 2013. Vawkkin, the affordable sister line to his primary label Vawk, offered a variety of tailored LBDs and separates. The brogues added a fresh spin to the frocks. Fong has gone retro ‘80s for spring. If Madonna’s “Justify My Love” blaring from the sound system didn’t tip you off, then his strong line-up of Madge-approved looks would have. Mostly shown in graphic black and white—colours were limited to a lipstick red and a rich eggplant—his latest Vawk collection checked off all the boxes for must-have Spring 2013 trends: exaggerated shoulders, thigh high slits, plunging necklines, leather LBDs and cut-outs with sheer panels. The gold cone bra paired with trousers showcased Fong’s flair for the unexpected but overall the collection didn’t stretch the sartorial limits. Then again, a sexy little leather number by Vawk will always make the cash register sing.

Toronto Fashion Week Spring 2013: Lucian Matis hits the mark with a print-packed collection (and high fives his mom in the process!)
See the Lucian Matis Spring 2013 collection »
It was print city last night at Lucian Matis’s show during World MasterCard Fashion Week in Toronto. Inspired by Moroccan tiles, billowing white tents and colourful bolts of fabric, Matis’s Spring 2013 collection was a delightful parade of au courant matching geometric prints. The ultra-femme crop tops, pencil skirts and capris in vibrant blues, oranges and yellows screamed Mediterranean al fresco dinner party. Pops of red came in leather short-shorts and flared mini-dresses with accentuated shoulders, and a sophisticated sleeveless jacket over a matching printed crop-top and high-waisted shorts.
