Okay, so maybe they’re not twins, but we can’t help but think that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt planned their back-to-black outfits together. Angie, in an asymmetrical satin Vivienne Westwood gown, a Louis Vuitton clutch, and jewellery of her own design (what!?!), and Brad in well… scruff, at last night’s Moneyball premiere look like two peas in one expensive, slightly Addams Family–esque pod. And we s’pose they should.

It’s on! Starting today, we’ll be sharing our favourite TIFF red carpet looks and teaching you how to get ‘em for less (and by less, we mean that you don’t have to walk to the store to get them, so you’re not spending on gas). First up: we’re channeling Mia Wasikowska.  At last night’s Restless premiere, the actress was wearing a lady-like, double-tie houndstooth dress, showing off her sleek figure and natural, effortless beauty. She wore the dress, a slightly sheer number (dare we guess Yves Saint Laurent?) hitting just above the knee, showing off her simple Loubs. We love the simple yet modern look, and the confident pop of colour on the lip fits right in.

During this year’s TIFF, the word we read almost as often as “red carpet” or “Martin Sheen” was “Resort,” as in resort collections. Indeed, no designer dominated the premieres and parties, but these collections certainly did, popping up on nearly every major red carpet. Our favourite was Carey Mulligan‘s celestial Christopher Kane dress, but Emma Stone (in Stella McCartney), Rebecca Hall and Jennifer Connelly (both in YSL) also chose looks from this “season” (can we call it that?). Freida Pinto wins for most resort-filled TIFF wardrobe, trotting out Alexander McQueen for the You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger premiere, an aqua Narciso Rodriguez for the presser and a fuchsia leopard-print Marchesa for the Miral party.

Of the Ryans floating around at TIFF this year, the vastly superior one (in our humble opinion) is Ryan Gosling, who showed up last night for the Canadian premiere of Blue Valentine. We’ve got another hot battle on our hands today on Who Wore it Best?: Jumpsuit edition. Rebecca Hall is back for another round of judgment on her red YSL number, but this time we’re having her face off against Rachel Weisz, who wore a creamy vintage jumpsuit to last night’s premiere of The Whistleblower. Does Hall’s look (which, for the record, we liked–ignoring the somewhat ill-fitting bustier top) fare better here, or does Weisz’s stab at relaxed glam come out on top?

There’s nothing like celebrity endorsement to open hearts (read: wallets) for a good cause. So when Kenneth Cole, Kelly Rowland, Martin Sheen, Emilio Estevez signed up to attend the event, so did the majority of the Porche-driving population of Rosedale.

Today in Who Wore It Best: Red sequins edition, we’ve got Blake Lively squaring off against British actress Lucy Punch. Lively hit first in this Chanel Haute Couture frock at Saturday night’s premiere of The Town (See the red carpet pics) but Punch hit back (see what we did there?) with this ombré number at You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger. We’re having a tough time reffing this one (enough? Okay, we’ll stop).
