Blake Lively versus Rosie Huntington-Whiteley: Who wore the skinny skirt best?
Left: Photography courtesy of Burberry. Right: Photography by Caroline McCredie/WireImage While we’ve seen both Blake Lively and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley flaunt their gorgeous figures in statement mini dresses, the two blonde bombshells proved that they can take a midi skirt and make it look just as sexy and elegant on the red carpet.
Accompanying her husband, Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively attended the premiere of the animated film Turbo in New York City last night. While the couple both wore Burberry, Lively inevitably turned heads in a fresh summery ensemble. Contrasting Reynolds’ midnight-blue suit, the former Gossip Girl star wore a simple sheer grey tank top and a white form-fitting pencil skirt with crystal embellishments from Burberry Prorsum’s Resort 2014 collection. She also elongated the appearance of her legs by opting for a pair of nude pointed-toe heels by Christian Louboutin. Adding to the sparkles, she accessorized with rose cut diamond earrings and 18 karat white, pink and yellow gold rings by Lorraine Schwartz. (The perfect complement to her super-sized engagement ring and wedding band!) Lively showed off her natural beauty with minimum makeup and kept things effortless with her hair down in soft waves and subtle pink lips.

See the 2013 Tony Awards looks up-close »
The 2013 Tony Awards saw an array of glamorous A-listers, pile onto the red carpet outside of New York’s Radio City Music Hall. The annual event, which is hosted to celebrate excellence in Broadway theatre, was sure to draw a dramatic crowd and some equally dramatic red carpet moments. We were not disappointed.
Two celebs that opted for more demure red carpet getups were blond bombshells Scarlett Johansson and Sienna Miller.
Scarlett Johansson chose a classy little black dress and matching jacket set from Angelina Jolie’s current fave label Saint Laurent. To accessorize her effortlessly cool look, the actress paired a simple black clutch with sky-high platform stilettos. When it came to makeup, Scarlett Johansson complemented her edgier ensemble with a deep red glossy pout and glittery eyes. She opted for paler cheeks, keeping the emphasis on the darker lips.

Meanwhile, Emma Watson turned heads last week at the premiere of her latest film, The Bling Ring, in a stunning Chanel gown. Earlier in the day, the wizard-turned-fame-obsessed-teen (that is, on screen!) showed off an equally stunning burgundy ensemble by Christopher Kane.

When we think punk, we think spikes, studs and leather. Judging from the toughed up Burberry looks on both Cara Delevigne and Sienna Miller at last night’s Met Gala, it seems they both agree. Though others shied away from getting into the evening’s theme PUNK: Chaos to Couture, both it Brits had no problem suiting up in edgy duds.
Sienna Miller donned a simple white crêpe open-back dress topped with a killer studded, cropped, black leather biker jacket worn overtop. To accessorize, she chose a structured Burberry clutch with metal detailing and her Burberry-clad fiancée, Tom Sturridge.
Model of the moment and recently crowned Miss Vogue, Cara Delevigne, rocked a studded crêpe plunge-neck column dress. Delevigne, the current face of Burberry’s beauty campaign and just about every photo spread around, paired the black gown with a white studded clutch and heels, all by Burberry.

Forget diamonds, everybody knows that shoes are a girl’s best friend. As the Fall 2013 trends begin to emerge, so too do the must-have heels, boots and flats of the season. This round of fashion week has brought with it oodles of new shoe trends to look out for. From strappy suede booties to architectural high heels, the New York, London, Milan and soon-to-be Paris runways are filled with quirky designs that can certainly be the finishing touch on any outfit.
So far, many designers are reinventing old classics and updating them with modern details. Case in point: high-heeled loafers, seen at Mulberry, Rag & Bone and Moschino, which gave a new feminine twist to menswear’s most classic shoe by using fresh yellows, and unexpected patterns. Speaking of unexpected combinations, one of the most unusual footwear trends is the emerging sandal-boot. Open-toe booties are nothing new, but this time designers such as Prada have created a boot customized with cutouts around the sides and front of the shoe.
