“Hello! This is 777. Let’s get drunk! I love you!” Rihanna announced into a Boeing 777 PA as the first leg of her tour promoting her newest album, “Unapologetic” took off. The tour, which consists of seven shows in seven countries in seven days, is a lot of performing to say the least. But Rihanna is up for the challenge.

She also told the 200 fans, journalists and her personal entourage, “It will be the coolest thing I’ve ever done.” We won’t disagree with that statement.

Let the costume scramble continue! If you’re going out this weekend dressed as someone you’re not, chances are you’re pulling together and crafting like crazy. We’ve been here for you all week with Lana Del Rey, Marc Jacobs, and Kristen Stewart and now, what we can only assume will be a homerun this Halloween: Kimye.

Yup, that’s right, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian (couple costume alert!). As with most of our ingenious costume ideas, the combo look is simple and easy to find on a short notice. For Kim it’s all about the beauty and the booty—clothing should be as tight as humanly possible (butt padding for bonus points) and natural eyelashes need to be hidden by the most aggressively long pair of fakes possible. For Kanye, keep it in leather and keep it in black—leather pants with a Givenchy Rottweiler Tee are the keys to keeping up with Yeezy. In the fashion realm, Carine Roitfeld looms large. Her styling work—for French Vogue, Chanel, Givenchy—is memorable, and her role in the rise of talented designers and photographers like Tom Ford and Mario Sorrenti has been well documented. But her beauty influence has mostly been limited to those who obsessively follow fashion week street-style shots of her, with her smudged-black eyes and unbrushed hair falling over her face. So it’s a pleasant surprise that M.A.C, a company known for thinking well outside the model/pretty celebrity box, has asked the 57-year-old stylist and editor to compose a collection of cosmetics (from $18, maccosmetics.com) and pose for its campaign. “I think it is smart, because to be beautiful is not just about being a classic beauty. There is something subtler but more touching in you that is beautiful too,” says Roitfeld when we meet at the New York flagship bookstore of Rizzoli, the publisher of Irreverent, her glossy scrapbook memoir of last year. Wearing a camouflage Junya Watanabe sweater, YSL pencil skirt and bright green Balenciaga stiletto sandals, with that smoky liner and no lipstick, she’s typically un-“done” and exudes cool, though her warm manner is far from the frosty fashion stereotype.
