There’s something funny about Lana Del Rey’s new video for “Burning Desire”
File this under things that make you hmm. For anyone who gets Lana Del Rey (or at least thinks they do, like me), you’d know that her appeal couldn’t be separated from her very slickly designed persona. She’s far from an earnest street busker, to say the least. And while we’re usually so okay with […]

Lana Del Rey wore an oversized white suit to a Golden Globes afterparty and we’re just not sure how we feel about it
Do you like Lana Del Rey’s new look? Lana Del Rey is nothing if not a performance artist. Through various states of undress, we’ve seen her play everything from Lolita to a rough riding runaway. If Sunday night’s outfit is any indication, it looks like a Bianca Jagger/Jerry Hall mix might be next on the […]

Top 10 Fashion Influencers of 2012: We count down the biggest and best moments from Raf to Rihanna and back again
By Randi Bergman and Meredith Gillies
2012 has been quite the year. We’ve waited for Carly Rae Jepsen’s phone to ring since what feels like forever, we developed major girl crushes on Girls director/writer, Lena Dunham, and we felt like we’d never be as cool as Azealia Banks. Jepsen, Banks and Dunham may have rocked our worlds this year, but in the world of fashion, important things that have gone down too. There have been soaring highs, crashing lows, and shocking changes for celebrities, designers and even journalists.
Designer shifts at Balenciaga and Dior that are just a sampling of what seems like an endless list of fashion shakeups that went down over the past 12 months including Stefano Pilati and Hedi Slimane at Yves Saint Laurent, YSL becoming simple Saint Laurent Paris and more. And speaking of shakeups, Kristen Stewart’s rise from a teen queen to a heartbreaking fragrance face has been epic to say the least. So let’s look back, reflect, and count down together the events that made 2012 so real.

Kate Middleton attends the Wales vs New Zealand rugby match in her red LK Bennett coat. Her bangs looked nice
See all of Kate Middleton’s recent outings »
As Grey Cup mania hit Canada this weekend, Kate Middleton was indulging in a little field-side action herself, watching a rugby game between Wales and New Zealand in Cardiff, Wales alongside Prince William who is patron of the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust. Pre-game, the couple met with former players injured during their careers, who are supported by the trust.
For the outdoor event, the Duchess of Cambridge wore her red LK Bennett Ami coat—the same worn last November on a UNISEF visit to Denmark (to find out more about that cause, visit unicef.org), but this time worn with its original belt. To match the coat, the Duchess wore a previously unseen red Gucci Monogram canvas shoulder bag, black Aquatalia knee high boots and gold leaf drop earrings designed by Catherine Zoraida, which she wore during her recent Jubilee Tour to Southeast Asia.

Lana Del Rey updates her ’60s style with Jane Birkin-esque bangs
Lana Del Rey has become somewhat of a ’60s hairstyle chameleon. Whether it’s an oversized bouffant, tight curls or brushed-out waves the singer loves to experiment with her style—though always keeping it in the same decade. And now, Lana Dey Rey has added a dark-brown set of bangs to her look.
While promoting her newest album “Born To Die: The Paradise Edition” in London, the singer altered her perfectly coiffed waves with a new set of bangs, giving a Jane Birkin-esque vibe to her hairstyle. At first we thought they were a clip-in set, but the split in the middle proves that they are indeed authentic. (New bangs always annoyingly refuse to adjust their part.)

Lana Del Rey’s “Bel Air”: The singer proves she can captivate even in 4 minutes of reused video footage
Coming off an over the top 10-minute music video (read: short film) for “Ride”, Lana Del Rey, true to her shape-shifting persona changed it up again. In anticipation to the release of her next album “Born To Die: The Paradise Edition”, a promo video has surfaced for the track “Bel Air” comprised of outtakes from the video for “Summertime Sadness” which released earlier this year.
We want to ignore the fact that the smokey and ghostly scenes have been featured before because the lip syncing-less video works perfectly for the mysterious sounds of the song “Bel Air”. As smoke whirls around her and changes colour, Lana Del Rey’s vulnerable and dark stained pout seem as iconic as the flower crown from “Born To Die” or the fro-like curls as we saw in “Ride”. She has shown us that she excels at over the top videos and now, keeping it simple.

8 steps to Suri Cruise: Foolproof tips to dressing as the most fashionable tot in Tinseltown
See the step-by-step Suri Cruise costume guide»
TGIF, folks! We’ve spent our week finding simple and super awesome (if we do say so ourselves) costume ideas from Marc Jacobs to Kristen Stewart every day all week, and on Fridays, we wear pink (we know the line is technically Wednesday, but work with us here). And more pink than your eyes can probably handle, because today’s edition of Halloween costumes is all about dressing like the most stylish child in Hollywood, Miss Suri Cruise.
There’s a fine line that those who attempt this costume will tread and it’s between looking like an actual child or like an adult with a weird pink obsession. Suri pulls this look off because, she’s six, so it is essential for this costume to be complimented by a tiny kids purse (stuffed with candy), an oversized teddy bear and minimal makeup. Bonus points will be awarded to those who can convince someone to carry them around like a child.

The 9 most stylish moments in Lana Del Rey’s epic new “Ride” video
Check out the top fashion moments from Lana Del Rey’s new video! »
By now, we should be used to the dramatic videos that Lana Del Rey has been putting out – from the epic “National Anthem” to her latest sultry ad campaign for H&M – this time around though, she’s hit it far out of the park.
Coming in at a little over ten minutes, her latest video for the song “Ride” is one of the greatest mini-movies we have seen. Starting with a dramatic voice-over by Lana describing the motley crew of men she met along the road, we see scenes of her riding with a slew of bikers, waiting for men at the convenience store and of course, performing on stage. The video goes on to track her summer spent with the aforementioned bikers and various men, all the while looking like the biggest babe that has ever rode down desert roads on the back of a motorcycle.

Lana Del Rey debuts black hair that’s right on trend for fall
What better time to try a darker hair colour than fall? Lana Del Rey debuted black hair at last night’s GQ Men of the Year Awards—a move that’s right in step with both runway and red carpet trends. Considering that Lady Gaga dubbed her own recent change to a darker hair colour “Louis Vuitton brown” what should Lana Del Rey label her own black hair?
