Kristen Stewart versus Lily Collins: Watch both trailers for their upcoming Snow White movies and tell us who’s got your vote
Watch the trailers »
Vote for your favourite »Not one but two Snow White–inspired films are coming out in 2012, sparking a battle over which will be the fairest. Mirror, Mirror, starring Julia Roberts and Lily Collins appears to be a comedic twist on the classic tale, whereas Snow White and the Huntsman, with Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart, has a fight-to-the-death Game of Thrones–esque tone.

Vote! Who wore it best at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Emerging Talent awards?
Industry darling Joseph Altuzarra was named the 2011 recipient of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award for emerging talent last night in New York. Altuzarra, known for his complex seaming and fitted pants, won a $300,000 cash prize and a mentorship program from the CFDA’s Business Advisory Committee including Anna Wintour and CFDA president Diane Von Furstenberg. Macabre jeweler Pamela Love and newcomers Shane Gabier and Chris Peters of Creatures of the Wind both won runner up prizes of $100,000 each.
Meanwhile, on the red carpet, the bright young things were out in full American-made force, decked out in everything from fellow nominees Cushnie et Ochs and Suno to the event’s title speaker Calvin Klein. Oh, and Jenna Lyons was there too. (“Nothing to see here, folks!”)

That’s one bad ombré: Drew Barrymore and Audrina Patridge both showed off unfortunate dye jobs this week
Ombré, ombré, ombré! This hair-colour technique is slowly moving away from being just a fad and becoming a long-haul trend. Unfortunately, this doesn’t mean that all hair stylists have mastered how to properly do an ombré dye job. Case(s) in point: Drew Barrymore and Audrina Patridge. Both were snapped this week with dark-to-light tresses, and we can’t say we approve of either.
Patridge, at the Immortals 3D premiere in Los Angeles, doesn’t even seem to have hit the dye bottle—it looks like the former Hills star simply swapped her brown extensions for blonde. Let’s all cross our fingers and hope that this quickie approach to ombré doesn’t catch on.
Then there’s Barrymore, who is usually so good at switching hair colours. So we’re going to assume the brassy ombré style she debuted at the LACMA Art + Film Gala is actually still in transition—because there is no excuse for bleaching the bottom half of jet-black hair and not toning it to a proper shade. None.
Do you think either of these stars looks good with her new hair? »

Does How I Met Your Mother’s Cobie Smulder have a hairstyle that’s only appealing to women? Vote now!
Vote now and share your opinion »
If you’re beauty obsessed and a fan of How I Met Your Mother, you’ve likely noticed just how well the hair and makeup team replicate the cast’s ever-changing looks during the show’s many flashbacks. It’s actually impressive that Cobie Smulders (Robin) and Alyson Hannigan (Lily) are allowed to change their hairstyles so frequently—that’s a lot of wigs!

Snooki keeps trying to make the duckbill nail happen. Vote now to stop it!
It’s a trend we’ve been trying to ignore for a while, but Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi keeps trying to make it happen—the duckbill nail. Dubbed as such because of the way the nail gets wider at the ends, it takes a long afternoon at the salon to achieve this extremely fake nail look. Seen as recently as yesterday, at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards, we’re hoping the duckbill trend doesn’t have wings and will stay in the Jersey Shore forever. But red carpet after red carpet (who, exactly, keeps inviting her?) Snooki is there, showing off her bedazzled, duckbill’d tips. There are about a thousand adjectives to describe why we hate this look, with “artificial” and “acrylic” topping the list. Actually, we’d maybe even like the airbrushed art she’s wearing (in a Katy Perry sort of way) if it was paired with a more naturally shaped nail.

Poll: Are you sick of Jeffrey Campbell’s Lita boot?
Not since Uggfluenza (a clever term coined by Amy Verner), have we seen a shoe-outbreak spread as widely as that of Jeffrey Campbell‘s infamous Lita boot. Since the boot’s release last fall, it seems that everyone everywhere has bought a pair for themselves, in every pattern from the American flag, to the Christopher Kane–inspired cosmic print (pictured x2 above). We can’t say we don’t get the appeal. The boot is re-released every few months in a new pattern, colour, or material, it comes equipped with the ultra-covetable and trendy platform toe, and most importantly it’s affordable.
The boot seems to pop up everywhere. And with every appearance, it’s followed by several angry and fatigued tweets à la “If I see another Lita boot, I may puke.” So what say you? Are you over it? Vote after the jump, and in case you’re not, peruse our look book of the latest styles. They’re each $162, and available at shopnastygal.com.

TIFF red carpet: What do you think of Brangelina’s black-on-black matching outfits?
Okay, so maybe they’re not twins, but we can’t help but think that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt planned their back-to-black outfits together. Angie, in an asymmetrical satin Vivienne Westwood gown, a Louis Vuitton clutch, and jewellery of her own design (what!?!), and Brad in well… scruff, at last night’s Moneyball premiere look like two peas in one expensive, slightly Addams Family–esque pod. And we s’pose they should.

Celeb poll: Which red carpet star are you most excited to see at TIFF?
The official TIFF guest list has been released and, as usual, it’s major! Amongst the cast of glittering names, heralded directors and studly leading men (would you like a side of Ryan Gosling/Alexander Skarsgard/Brad Pitt with that?), there promises to be some serious It girl action on the red carpet with everyone from Tilda to Keira to Blake to Carey heading to town. Stay tuned for our coverage leading up to and during the festival, but in the meantime, let’s indulge in a little girl crush freak-out. Who are you most excited to see?

Katy vs. Selena: Who wore it better?
By Allyssia Alleyne
Last night co-host and performer Selena Gomez brought out the heavy embroidery during the MMVAs, wearing the same blinged-out dress Katy Perry wears on our Summer cover. The jewel-encrusted Dolce & Gabbana mini combines three of summer’s hottest trends: lace, white and lots of leg. And so, the fashion battle begins!
Our favourite California girl made the dress fun and sexy, pairing it with colourful rings, purple polish and a pop of fuchsia lipstick.
In the other corner, Selena’s subdued makeup, messy updo and subtle dangling earrings make the risqué hemline seem downright wholesome. Not that it’s a bad thing. We like our 18-year-olds looking, you know, 18.

Celeb poll: Vote for your favourite starlet from the MTV Movie Awards red carpet!
The MTV Movie Awards never fail to bring out the best of young Hollywood for an action-packed night of candid humour, wham-bam performances and, of course, killer red carpet style. Last night, starlets like Hailee Steinfeld, Kristen Stewart, Blake Lively and Leighton Meester stepped out of their fashion comfort zones to rock the red carpet in everything from a Louis Vuitton suit to a safety-pinned Balmain mini. And its lucky they looked so slammin’⎯they had to keep up with the onstage antics (a certain steamy kiss between Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner comes to mind). After you’ve finished picturing that, check out our top 10 best-dressed ladies and vote for your favourite!

Celeb poll: Our picks for top ten best dressed at Cannes. Who’s your favourite?
For the past week, the Hollywood A-list as well (as the impossibly-stylish set) have hit the French Riviera for the 64th Annual Cannes Film Festival. As to be expected, the focus has been just as much about what the stars are wearing on the red carpets as it has been about the critically acclaimed films. With stars like Sarah Jessica Parker, Rachel McAdams and Tilda Swinton changing outfits multiple of times per day, its been a job in and of itself to narrow down our 10 best dressed. We’ve done it though, and now we turn it over to you. Who’s YOUR favourite? Vote after the jump.
