Emma Watson’s ear cuffs: A closer look at the star’s stunning jewellery obsession
See Emma Watson’s ear cuff style up close »
It’s pretty much a fact that Emma Watson is always flawless. She’s perfected the art of looking on-trend without being overly trendy and has an air of elegance other young starlets could only dream of achieving. Of course, the downside to all this elegance is that we usually only see Watson when she’s working—no tabloid cover scandals for this actor. Thankfully she’s been out and about quite frequently over the last few weeks, promoting her latest film, Noah, and we don’t need to tell you that she’s been killing it on the red carpet.
Her two most recent red carpet looks, from the New York City and London premieres, involved simple, sculptural dresses in solid colours. In New York, Watson wore a black, long-sleeve Oscar de le Renta gown from the Fall 2014 collection. A deep-cut, open back kept it from being too mature a look for the 23-year-old—who was quoted this weekend as saying she can’t wait to age. (Lol, okay.) Today in London, Watson stunned in an all-white Ralph Lauren Collection silk column gown. Both looks are top notch, but what really has us on board with Watson’s style are her stand-out accessories.

Your first time at any international fashion week will teach you a valuable lesson: You need a fur. And not just any Margot Tenenbaum style granny hand-me-down. A fur so intricately patterned, multi-layered and artificially coloured, that it has to be designer. Given its place at the apex of the top Fall 2014 trends, you’d think recessionary times were long gone—it’s virtually everywhere, from a hyper colour mink at Altuzarra to a fluffy red dress at Prada. Wear it with caution or as Dior prescribes, dangle it over your arm like it’s no big d. Let the fur fly, scruples or otherwise.

Grammys 2014: The 7 best dressed on the red carpet
See the Grammys 2014 Red Carpet »
Last night, music’s reigning royal couple, Beyoncé and Jay Z, continued to win at life, opening Grammys 2014 with one hella sexy lovefest courtesy of Bey’s new single, “Drunk in Love.” Aside from their amazing performance and some collaborations from our wildest dreams—hello Pharrell Williams, Daft Punk and Stevie Wonder!—there were some very unusual outfits. From country songstress Kacey Musgraves’ light up cowboy boots to Cyndi Lauper’s caped get up, fashion critics were split on most of the outfits from the night.
Taking a cue from Diane Keaton’s stylish tuxedo at the recent Golden Globes, Madonna went androgynous in a Ralph Lauren double-breasted tux, accessorizing with a sparkly glove, gold grills, and her son David who walked the carpet by her side. Katy Perry showed some love for Valentino, rocking a couture white tulle confection with staffs of sheet music splashed across the skirt. Some thought it verged on tacky, but we give her mad props for embodying the night’s theme so fully.
Both Ciara and Alicia Keys showed how to make the most of curves. Ciara showed off her baby bump in a fitted Emilio Pucci dress, keeping her hair and make up perfectly low key, as to not overwhelm the sequined get up. Similarly, Alicia Keys, kept her coiffed hair and make up simple, and let her cobalt blue Armani Privé halter gown take centre stage. The plunging neckline might be too much for some, but Alicia pulls off the bold look effortlessly.

Sochi 2014 Uniforms: The best Olympic getups from around the world
See some of our favourite Sochi 2014 uniforms »
Every two years, we humble plebes are reminded what is possible when we opt for the gym over a Scandal marathon. Olympians impress us with the kind of crazy skills we couldn’t rival in our wildest dreams but we usually have them beat on one account: fashion. Olympics past have brought out berets of shame and knockoffs, but so far, it looks like the tide might just be turning. Could a seriously stylish Sochi 2014 be ahead?
After being criticized for outsourcing its wares for the London 2012 Olympics, Ralph Lauren added the tagline “Made in America” to Team USA’s uniforms, which match alpine chicness with prep appeal. Hudson Bay’s point blanket jacket was an obvious inspiration for the pea coat and the white sweatpants are an odd choice for an official look. But on the whole, we give it two thumbs up.

Olympics countdown: Hudson’s Bay releases Team Canada Sochi 2014 uniforms and collection

Remember when Roots was responsible for much of the world’s Olympic clothes? This beret? Well, it seems as if some Canadian greatness is still rubbing off on Team USA, with its just-released Sochi 2014 uniforms. Designed by Ralph Lauren (and fully produced on American soil to put an end to last year’s controversy), the closing ceremony jacket, for one, looks quite the ever-iconic Bay stripe featured similarly on this year’s Team Canada wares. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…

Emmys 2013: Our top 20 best dressed on the red carpet
See the Emmys 2013 red carpet gallery »
The Primetime Emmy Awards were held last night in L.A. drawing the stars of our favourite highly addictive shows. From Kerry to Carrie and beyond, the red carpet was lined with gown after gown of the most feminine pinks, vibrant blues and fresh off the runway pieces.
Making a simple but bold statement with fall’s pink trend, Rose Byrne showed clean lines in a petal pink Calvin Klein cropped two-piece as did January Jones in a textured Spring 2014 Givenchy strapless gown by Riccardo Tisci. Sisters Zooey and Emily Deschanel wore similarly hued gowns by J.Mendel and Houghton as they presented an award onstage. Blue was also popular for Tina Fey and Allison Williams, who worked cobalt blue in Narsico Rodriguez and Ralph Lauren respectively.
Our Emmys 2013 standouts include the ever-smoldering Sofia Vergara whose mind-blowing curves left us with body envy. The Modern Family star sizzled in a crimson Vera Wang gown and emerald Lorraine Schwartz earrings. Claire Danes, who walked away with a coveted Emmy for Best Actress in a Drama, was delicate in an off white Armani Privé Fall 2013 gown.
Accompanying the glamour came an evening chock full of surprises, laughs and unforgettable acceptance speeches. Memorable moments include the host Neil Patrick Harris’s mid-show musical number, Michael Douglas’s Liberace-esque speech and the funny and casually dressed Will Ferrell. With the best leading ladies in primetime television satisfying our sartorial needs on the red carpet and dapper gents as far as the eye could see at the Emmys 2013, glamour was definitely in the air!
Who was your favourite of the evening?

New York Fashion Week: Ralph joins the mod squad, Calvin shows minimalism and Marc dreams of the 1890s for Spring 2014
See the final looks from New York Fashion Week Spring 2014 »
That’s a wrap! It’s been a whirlwind week of over 350 shows, front row gossip and a whole lot of crop tops (both on and off the runway) but somehow we survived to blog another day. Day 8 of New York Fashion Week saw three of the city’s designer kings take the stage: Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs. Three names that are synonymous with American design and three very different collections.
Ralph Lauren celebrated ’60s mod with a suite of mostly black and white looks featuring the era’s signature simple shift dresses, knee high socks, contrast collars and menswear inspiration. Streamlined silhouettes were pumped up with mix and match prints of black and white florals, plaids, stripes and checks. Next came an army of Crayola solids: a zingy green skirt suit, a neon orange coat, a red mock neck paired with red trousers and the show stopper: a cobalt blue strapless gown sported by Karlie Kloss.

Kate Middleton wears Ralph Lauren and Zara for her first official appearance since the birth of Prince George
We may not get another glimpse of Prince George for quite some time, but Kate Middleton seems quite eager to be back in the public eye. This morning the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made their first official royal appearance together since the birth of Prince George—who stayed at home with Grandma Middleton. The couple appeared at the Ring O’ Fire Coastal Ultra Marathon, a weekend-long race that circles the entire Isle of Anglesey and looks both super beautiful and super terrifying. Of course, we’d like to imagine that all the runners got an extra boost of adrenaline and encouragement upon seeing that Kate had come out to wish them well at the start line.

Kristen Stewart Style: A Chronological Guide to the Star’s Best Fashion Moments
It doesn’t take being a Twihard to be a fan of Kristen Stewart’s style. Known for her decidedly anti-glam approach, the actress has been known to turn […]
