Swim 2013: Dive into this season’s trends with 30 runway-inspired bathing suits
Or jump to: BLACK | CUT OUTS | METALLIC | RETRO | STRIPES
Finally, summer is just around the corner and surf, sand and sunscreen are words we’re thrilled to bring back into our vocabulary. We’ve got four glorious months of swimsuit potential just around the corner and to help you prep, we’ve got 30 must-have new styles for the swim 2013 season. While we can’t promise to make the changeroom experience any easier, we can take the guesswork out of choosing a suit that will make the biggest splash poolside.
Look to the runway for inspiration and test the waters in a brand-new bather. From bright shades to solid stripes, we are drawing inspiration from Rochas’ dainty outing to Burberry’s metallics.
On the runway, Michael Kors showed us a sporty take on stripes with a lake-ready colour-blocked style. At Moschino Cheap and Chic, the theme was floral, with hints of Hawaii. And if colour ain’t your thing, Jason Wu made us want to buy a one-way ticket to Saint Tropez when he sent a glammed up little-black-one-piece down the runway with an ultra-feminine cover up worn over top.

Topshop has launched a music festival style collection with Kate Bosworth: See all 21 Topshop Festival items now
See all 21 Topshop Festival items here »
Just in time for this summer’s music festival season, Topshop is launching an interactive campaign called Topshop Festival. Inspired by the energy of the ever-growing popularity of British music festivals and its fashion, the campaign includes music, movies and, of course, must-have products. Even better, Topshop turned to Kate Bosworth—a Coachella devotee who’s always embraced the festival fashion trend—to help create some items for the collection. It’s not a collaboration, per say, but more of a Bosworth-approved edit of the Topshop Festival collection.
Working with the Topshop design team, Bosworth created items that extend the actress’s style and work hand in hand with the Topshop brand. The special 21-piece collection consists of signature pieces ranging from neon printed shorts, fur lined vests, gladiator sandals and even feathered wings. And before you click through to our gallery of all the Topshop Festival items—you may have already seen them: Bosworth wore many of the items at this year’s Coachella festival.

Kate Middleton wears a polka dot Topshop dress to cast some spells on the set of Harry Potter
Photography by Chris Jackson/Getty Images Reunited and it feels so good! It’s been quite a while since we’ve seen the royal trio out together but they certainly know how to pick their official engagements. This morning the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry officially opened Warner Bros studios in Hertfordshire, which is home to such franchise productions as Harry Potter, Batman and James Bond. Meaning the three young royals got to tour the studio and play with all the props, much to our delight.
As you can see from the picture above, they were quite into showing off their Harry Potter wand skills. (Kate Middleton has reportedly read all the Harry Potter books and seen all the movies.) William, on the other hand, was especially into all the Dark Knight gear and as the Mirror reports, he was even joking about the possibility of making them royal baby friendly: “To be honest, I’m over the moon just to have seen the real Batmobile and Batpod. […] You don’t do baby seats for those cars, do you, by any chance?” Clearly on a roll, Will also joked about his brother: “Harry’s just excited to see a real-life talking owl in the Harry Potter studios. I haven’t told him yet that Harry Potter is fictional, so please keep the secret for a little longer.”
Keeping with the day’s playful theme, Kate’s bump-hugging polka dot outfit was perfect for the occasion. Her adorable dress is from Topshop (and already sold out online, of course) and hits just above the knee—a cut she’s been wearing quite frequently during her pregnancy.

The new clutch purse: 15 quirky statement makers that bring any outfit to the next level
See our 15 clutch must-haves »
Bigger isn’t always better when it comes to Spring 2013 accessories and this season we’re holding on to statement clutches in all shapes, sizes and patterns.
While those larger than life body bags were the ultimate standard only a few seasons ago, Spring 2013 is the time to edit what’s inside your bag and retain only the essentials (iPhone, lipstick, wallet and that’s about it).
The clutch purse was everywhere on the international runways, and its appeal ran the gamut from quirky (a candy button style turquoise number at Fendi) to 1990s-inspired (a plaid fold-over bag at Dries Van Noten) to the really old school (Céline’s take on the classic brown lunch bag, which was reinvented in bright red leather.)

Anderson has designed a second Topshop collection for Spring 2013.
“This collection was more about youth cultural groups,” Anderson told Vogue UK. “The girl has evolved. It’s about carrying over the idea of iconic pieces that can be worn over and over and re-working staple looks from the J.W. Anderson wardrobe.”

Watch Topshop promote their spring nail polish collection with an adorable animation
Always on trend, Topshop’s nail polishes have become very popular since launching in 2010. And now they’ve found another way to catch our attention: To celebrate the forthcoming spring collection, Topshop teamed up with Sadie and Joe, a brother and sister duo who have done stop motion animation work with everyone from Marc Jacobs to Vogue. They created an adorable video (which we first spotted thanks to Lucky Magazine) that brings the Topshop nail polishes to life.
The video features lacquered fake nails and nail polish bottles dancing to music by Joseph Bond. The glittery and colourful background transforms before our eyes from stripes to landscapes to flowers. Check out the video below—and then we dare you to resist painting your nails a bright, sunny shade.
