Braided hairstyles of all complexities have reigned supreme on the runways and red carpets for what seems like forever. Childhood memories aside, the current iteration of braids started around Spring 2010 (thanks Alexander Wang and Oscar de la Renta, to name a few) and the style has continued to grow season after season. This ongoing trend has cued the arrival of braid bars—a special salon that has perfected the art of braiding—in New York and Los Angeles, and now they’re coming to Toronto.

Marc Anthony Salons in Toronto just announced that they will now offer a special braid menu to customers. The styles range from a basic French braid band to more complex plaits such as fishtails, waterfalls and a fully braided halo updo. We should have known there was more to those rainbow highlights than a desire to be on trend! Britney Spears, who’s no stranger to communicating through the state of her hair, debuted turquoise and pink dip-dyed tips this weekend for an appearance at the iHeart Radio music festival. Aside from the fact that she hasn’t changed her hair colour in a few years (which, for Britney, is a very good thing) we didn’t think anything of it—until the video for Christina Aguilera‘s new single “Your Body” debuted this afternoon.
