TIFF 2014: Tina Fey and Jane Fonda are smokeshows on the This Is Where I Leave You red carpet
See all the photos from the This Is Where I Leave You red carpet » Is there anything better than A-listers on a red carpet who like being on a red carpet? That’s like striking film fest gold, and it’s exactly what happened at the TIFF 2014 premiere of This Is Where I Leave You, […]

TIFF 2013: Dakota Fanning, Ewan McGregor, Jesse Eisenberg and more at Sunday’s Grey Goose Soho House bash
See all the photos from the Night Moves party! »
This weekend’s TIFF parties have been loaded with A-listers, but at the Grey Goose Soho House last night, it was A-list with a capital ‘A’ for the post-premiere party of Night Moves. The film stars Dakota Fanning and Jesse Eisenberg (plus Swedish dreamboat Peter Sarsgaard, though he sadly wasn’t in town) who play environmentalists-turned-eco-terrorists dealing with a major “moral maelstrom.” Both stars were there last night and while we wonder how the notoriously curt Eisenberg held up, we were mainly focused on Fanning’s top knot and super-hunk bf Jamie Strachan. Fanning swapped her Atelier Versace red carpet look in favour of a more relaxed blazer, crop top and pencil skirt combo. Jennifer Morrison was also rocking some amazing hair, with a long, perfectly-messy fishtail braid that started as a French braid at her crown. (That’s definitely going into our Pinterest inspiration folder.)

TIFF 2013: Fassbender gossip! Plus 23 shots of Olivia Wilde, Dakota Fanning and more at the Variety Studio at Holt Renfrew
See all the pictures from the Variety Studio at Holt Renfrew »
Critics were rendered speechless at Friday night’s premiere of 12 Years a Slave—and at the Variety Studio yesterday at Holt Renfrew, the same thing happened to us when Michael Fassbender, one of the film’s stars, entered the room along with director Steve McQueen and a few members of the cast. Wearing a black shawl collar sweater and dark jeans, Fassy (as we’re in the habit of calling him) sent our fangirl hearts racing in delight as we shrieked inside, trying to process that we were breathing in the same air as him. Also, dude has like the tiniest waist ever.
While waiting to be interviewed, we watched as Fassbender made a beeline for a tray of strawberries. Despite making a sour facial reaction, he gave the berry a thumbs up. No, like literally a thumbs up. Annnnd we’re officially jealous of fruit. Then he tilted back a glass of Moët, chatting with co-star Alfre Woodard and laughing at something she said before posing for a photo with her. Meanwhile the film’s lead, Chiwetel Ejiofor, sidled up to the British Airways bar and had a cup of something hot—hopefully having to say thank you to everyone complimenting his much-buzzed-about performance hasn’t made him lose his voice.

TIFF 2013: Jason Bateman brings a packed house to the Bad Words party at James Perse
See the Bad Words party photos »
If you’ve ever wanted an excuse to be pushed up against Jason Bateman‘s chest, last night’s party for Bad Words was the place to be. Held in the James Perse Boutique, the minimalist Yorkville shop reached maximum capacity to celebrate the film’s TIFF premiere—which, based on the tweets of fans and critics alike, is sure to be the next big dark comedic hit. (And also the reason why the film’s producers spent just as much time outside the party closing deals as they did inside enjoying the Mexican-themed drinks and treats.)

TIFF 2013: The full list of the stars coming to town (plus, how we may embarrass ourselves in front of them)
It’s here! After about a month of speculation since the Toronto International Film Festival first announced its roster of films, a list of attendees has been released through the festival’s Pinterest page and it’s A-list enough to get your stalking senses tingling. We ain’t even going to try to hide the fact that we become extraordinary (but elegant) creeps during TIFF, so without further ado, here’s our game plan for approaching the biggest and best stars at TIFF 2013.

Nude enthusiast Marc Jacobs will play a porn baron in an upcoming flick
Somewhere between NYFW, PFW, and LVMH, Marc Jacobs has found time to enter NSFW territory. It’s been reported that the designer has been cast in the indie drama Disconnect as a porn baron. Jacobs has been reported as saying that the character is completely unlike his real self. We beg to differ, though. After all, […]

TIFF News: Tom Ford doesn’t want to talk about fashion, Lisa Kudrow likes being bad, and more
Tom Ford’s A Single Man [watch the trailer] was picked up by the Weinstein company early Tuesday, shortly after the film’s premiere. An all-night negotiation led to the purchase, with Alliance picking up the Canadian release of the picture. Ford spoke up on the differences between film and fashion, and bristled at questions focused only on the latter. “Fashion is a commercially creative outlet, whereas film is purely impressionistic,” he said. The former Gucci designer went on to say that the film’s costumes were “to serve these characters. It wasn’t a costume parade for me.” [Eye Weekly, Toronto Life]
