Gaultier’s lingerie collection does indeed include a cone bra
Photos emerged yesterday of Jean Paul Gaultier‘s lingerie line with La Perla. Though the French designer has woven lingerie looks into his collections throughout his career, this is his first underwear-only effort. Only a handful of images of the handmade (yeah, this line’s not cheap), 27-style capsule range have been released, but that’s all we […]

The daily steal: Basket-weave flats, $30
Good wicker clothing is hard to come by. Jean Paul Gaultier’s haute couture collection was inspired by Aztecs and their weaving tradition, but I just don’t have the kind of life that allows me to look like a human basket. These woven flats ($30, urbanoutfitters.com), which look a bit like pixelated snake skin, fit the […]

We think that logo would make a great bra. Photography by Peter Stigter Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock with your fingers in your ears, you’d know a thing or two about Madonna‘s cone brassieres. You’d also be pleased to know that the man who introduced the world to said bras, Jean Paul Gaultier, will be releasing a line of lingerie this fall with La Perla. [The Cut]
Congratulations to Turkish designer Hakaan Yildirim for winning ANDAM’s €220,000 prize. He was up against some fierce competition, including Canadian designers Mark Fast and Calla Haynes. [Style.com]

[Fashionologie]Toronto fashion darling Kimberley Newport-Mimran revealed she will be expanding her Pink Tartan line from the confines of the department store by opening her first Pink Tartan flagship this fall. The 2,500-square-foot space will house the line in its “pure form” in a historic Yorkville (obviously) building. [Toronto Star]

Jean Paul Gaultier is designing a line for the haute, modern furniture company Roche Bobois, whose Missoni-covered modular sofas we have long coveted. The line hasn’t been released yet, but we hope it won’t look like the creepy bedspread above, which Gaultier designed for a show in Paris. [WWD, sub req]

The Jean Paul Gaultier Target collection looks incredible!
