Gravity Pope takes Toronto! The West Coast favourite to set up shop on Queen Street West
Courtesy of Gravity Pope Gravity Pope, a favourite of West Coast shoe addicts, has made its East Coast domination official: The brand will be setting up shop on Toronto’s Queen Street West (at Ossington Avenue) in early November.
The Toronto location will have over 4,000 square feet to display shoes, women’s and men’s wear, accessories and more. Gravity Pope gained a cult following because of the crazy range of shoes and clothing available. New York Fashion Week Spring 2013 backstage beauty: Slick eyelids at Marc by Marc Jacobs and Narciso Rodriguez
Narciso Rodriguez and Marc by Marc Jacobs photography by Peter Stigter “I always love a greasy eye,” said Dick Page, backstage at Marc By Marc Jacobs describing the punked-out makeup for the show. “I guess [for this look] I’m pre-empting the morning after, because if it’s pre-destroyed it can’t go bad, you already know it looks like shit,” he further explained. His greasy-eye-making product of choice? “I use a stupid-expensive lip balm from Shiseido. What I like about it is that it’s got a little pink in it.” There’s a worn-in tube of Shiseido Benefiance Full Correction Lip Treatment ($38, at department stores) on his makeup table that verifies his love for the product. For Marc by Marc Jacobs, Dick Page layered the slick balm over top of beige and black cream eye shadows on lids and upper and lower lash lines.

From the city that never sleeps, it also seems that the fashion crowd never sleeps during fashion week, as photographer Stefania Yarhi has caught even more stylish ladies (and a few men!) outside the shows at New York Fashion Week Spring 2013.
The excitement was in the air as Hollywood’s elite sat in the coveted front row of Rodarte’s Spring 2013 show on Tuesday. Plunked beside Rachel Zoe and Anna Wintour in the front row was Kirsten Dunst (fresh from her visit to Toronto for TIFF to promote her upcoming film On the Road), who Yahri captured leaving the show wearing an on-trend cream and brown striped dress with lace and ruffles from Rodarte’s Fall 2012 collection.

New York Fashion Week Spring 2013: Why J.Crew can do no wrong, plus our top 5 picks from yesterday’s shows
Photography by Peter Stigter It was a whirlwind day of running between shows and showrooms, but I’ve managed to suss out five of the best offerings of the day, beginning with the most unexpected one from Oscar de la Renta. From a man known for glamorous gowns and ladylike day-wear, it was a surprise to see Karlie Kloss open the show in a latex top and skin-tight pencil skirt. Clearly courting a younger contingent, uncharacteristically punky coloured streaks were added to wispy beehives and billowy shorts suits were on offer for evening. Is Oscar abandoning his core clientele? I seriously doubt it, but it’s always refreshing to see a designer throw us a curveball and stretch his style beyond the expected.
