Now, the Twittersphere and blogs alike are blowing up with word that family friend Vera Wang will design Kardashian’s wedding dress. Who cares? As it seems, everyone!

Yesterday was a gem of a day. Along with my morning tea, I started the day previewing fine jewellery designer Monique Péan’s gorgeous new collection.

While there was no sign of First Lady Michelle Obama (who reportedly counts Péan’s pieces among her faves), it was inspiring to see how many other fans this CFDA runner-up has gathered in such a short time.

Speaking of fans, the NY social set, including Marina Rust, Marjorie Gubelmann and Helen Lee Schifter, was glossed, polished and freshly blown-out for the Vera Wang show. Gubelmann brought along her gal-pal (latest project?) The Hills Stephanie Pratt, who lit up when Elle’s Joe Zee crossed the floor to introduce himself.

Wang’s spring show was decidedly drab in comparison to all of the nudes and dusty desert hues seen this week. Among the many black on black looks (hey, she is a New Yorker after all) there were a few floral prints for those looking to colour their world come spring. Signature Wang accents were woven throughout the collection–a tulle trim here, a jewel encrusted neck plate there.  Perfect for the toughened up modern-day romantic.

Does Janie Bryant ever sleep? The Mad Men costume designer, who has also created clothing line for sale on QVC, a nail polish range and vlogs for Banana Republic, has now teamed up with the 88-year-old brassiere brand Maidenform to work on a viral marketing campaign. Will be as successful as the legendary “I dreamed I…” campaign from the 50s and 60s? Only YouTube will tell… [Fashionista]

T’was tweeted: “thanks vanity fair for NOT crediting me in the story….VANITY UN-FAIR …..agrhhh!!!!” Argh indeed, according to stylist Nicola Formichetti, the man behind the much-buzzed gray-haired Lady Gaga Vanity Fair shoot, the mag didn’t credit him for his work. The dusty Ungaro drama is far from settling, with the announcement today that Estrella Archs leaving the label. “Estrella Archs announces that she has left her job as chief designer of Emanuel Ungaro due to irreconcilable differences related to the creative direction of the brand,” a spokesperson for the designer confirmed. Anna Wintour spoke at the Pratt Institute last night in a tribute to Irving Penn, and we got a glimpse into the softer side of the Vogue editor-in-chief, calling Penn a “seductive” man who she immediately had “an intellectual crush [on].”  She concluded her speech quite emotionally, saying “He made me a better editor. He was always in my head…. Irving’s gifts to us will not end.” [Fashionista]

A private funeral service for Alexander McQueen will be held today in London. A spokeswoman for the label said that a public memorial for the designer will take place later this year, and that right now the label is focussing on their Paris show in March. [The Cut]
