With countless campaigns under her belt, Kate Moss has just been announced as the face and body of international self-tan brand St. Tropez. Already a fan of the brand (and frequent user) today the British top model revealed her excitement to be officially working with St. Tropez. Via press release Moss said, “I’ve been using the products since they started and it’s a really trustworthy, cool brand. I always feel more confident with a St. Tropez tan!”
Hoping to connect with women of all ages, Moss’s iconic status, confidence and amazing attitude make her the perfect face and body for the brand’s first-ever global advertising campaign. And what a campaign it is! Renowned fashion and beauty photographer Solve Sundsbo has created super-saturated shots of Moss’s divine tanned body against blue skies and crystal-clear water. This campaign certainly has us dreaming about basking in the Mediterranean sun. (But at this point we’ll even take a weekend up in cottage country.)

What do you do to celebrate a 15-year career as one of Britain’s leading fashion designers? If you’re Matthew Williamson, you collaborate with Benefit Cosmetics to create a limited edition makeup kit! The exclusive-to-Sephora set, titled The Rich is Back, contains a selection of eyeshadows, a mascara, a cheek powder and a lip gloss. Though Williamson prefers a more natural face at his shows, the range of shades chosen for the Benefit kit allows for both a casual and daring look.
In seeking inspiration for the makeup kit, Matthew Williamson explored his print archive and chose vibrant shades reminiscent of ’70s cocktail parties and hedonistic discos. “This high-octane makeup kit encapsulates some of my favorite iconic prints and the fun-loving, light-hearted spirit of the Benefit girl,” Williamson said via press release. The designer, who is widely know for his obsession with colour, chose a bright kaleidoscope print with peacock feathers and pink flowers for the makeup kit’s packaging.

Demi Lovato’s blonde vs. Carly Rae Jepsen’s red: Which popstar’s new hair colour do you like best?

Photography by Kris Connor/Getty Images and Instagram/Carly Rae Jepsen Who doesn’t love a good change? Two of the music industry’s top talents, Demi Lovato and Carly Rae Jepsen, certainly enjoy switching things up—both popstars debuted radically new hair colours last night and we absolutely love the results.
First up: Demi Lovato. She’s ditched her raven locks for a delightful shade of honey-blonde. (Lovato showed off her new hair colour yesterday evening, when she was honoured for her charitable work at the National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day.) Although we’ve seen her go blonde before, this time around the the X Factor judge paired the colour change with a shorter cut. Together, the new colour and cut has a very sophisticated look and it paired beautifully with her all-white ensemble at the ceremony.

Michael Kors to launch a trio of colour cosmetics collections, designed for your sporty, sexy or glam personas
Michael Kors seems to be everywhere right now, but the American designer is showing no signs of slowing down. Today it was announced that Michael Kors is launching a new line of colour cosmetics and body care in late August. While there have been a slew of successful fragrances over the years, this line expands the brand’s beauty presence with several new makeup products.
In an interview with WWD, Kors explained that the inspiration behind the new collection came from his own family as well as the different personalities of the Michael Kors customer. “I think [these] three things—sexy, sporty and glam—have always been the DNA of Michael Kors,” Kors said, “and in a strange way, the Michael Kors woman really is all three of those things—it’s just that she feels more strongly about one of them at certain given times.” With that in mind, Kors worked his beauty and fragrance partners to create three different collections—appropriately titled “Sporty,” “Sexy” and “Glam.”

Rachel McAdams vs. Mad Men’s Joan: Which redhead wore purple best?

Left: Photography courtesy of AMC. Right: Photography by MAVRIXPHOTO.COM/KEYSTONE Press. Get a closer look at Rachel McAdams’ new red hair »
Today’s edition of Who Wore It Best is a battle of the redheads: Rachel McAdams at Jimmy Kimmel Live vs. Christina Hendricks as Joan in season six of Mad Men.
Rachel McAdams recently converted to being a ginger with a new auburn hair colour that she debuted on Monday night in Los Angeles. Wearing a two-piece purple ensemble on Jimmy Kimmel Live—and she made sure to explain that it was not a jumpsuit—she blabbed about living in Toronto (!!!) and told a hilarious story about the time a grocery store clerk gave her some pot. Canada’s sweetheart just got a little bit more real.
The combination of the entirely purple look with fiery red locks jogged our memory of a recent outfit worn by everyone’s favourite redhead, Joan Holloway/Harris. Joan’s similar two-piece outfit from the season six premiere of Mad Men doesn’t feature sheer paneling like McAdams’, but instead has a dark purple vest that allows a ruffled button-up to show through. We must remember that this is a show set in the past, you guys.
Purple is a great tone for those with reddish locks so who do you think wears the colour better? Vote in our poll!

Consider wearing SPF to the nail salon: New study links UV gel manicures to skin cancer

Photography courtesy fingrs/flickr Gel manicures have become quite popular in the last few years, most of all thanks to their ability to last a long time without chipping. Although gel nail polish can be difficult to remove (FYI, read our tips on how to remove gel nail polish at home here), many of us have embraced gel manis as an easier alternative to traditional nail polish. However, according to a new study from the Skin Cancer Foundation, there may be more serious reasons to reconsider our dedication to the gel manicure.
As nail techs and anyone who’s tried out a gel manicure will know, UV-emitting devices are used to seal the polish to the nail. But how safe is it? In a statement released by the Skin Care Foundation, Vice President Elizabeth K. Hale confirmed what many already suspected: UV-emitting nail lamps are carcinogenic to humans. Although Hale describes the skin cancer risk for gel manicures as “very low,” it is not insignificant enough to ignore. The statement indicates that the risk is greatest for squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), the second most common skin cancer. “SCC is mainly caused by chronic UV exposure and is very common on the hands and around the fingernails,” Hale said.

Photography by Peter Stigter British print and colour master Matthew Williamson is set to launch a bridal collection next year. “I wanted to create a bridal collection that is both a natural extension of the mainline eveningwear, but at the same time reflects the opulence of such an important celebratory event,” he said. [BlackBook]
Anna Wintour on lunch dates with Marc Jacobs: “At the end of it, I feel totally outclassed, out of touch, and certainly completely out of shape, but also at the same time, absolutely and wonderfully exhilarated because Marc is someone who makes you want to rush out and do things.” [The Cut]
