New York Fashion Week backstage beauty: 57 pictures of the best manicures and nail art from the Spring 2014 shows
See the Spring 2014 nail art looks up close »
The nails at New York Fashion Week were right in tune with the ’90s minimalism style we saw on the Spring 2014 runways. Sheer is in, colour is out and the nail art trend seems to be winding down. The bare and buffed nails of last spring are still going strong for 2014, with designers like Altuzarra, Alexander Wang and Jeremy Laing opting for pale shades of pink, lavender or beige instead of punchy pastels and neon brights.

Fall may be creeping closer and closer, but at last night’s Teen Choice Awards, summer was still in style. And for Bella Thorne and Lily Collins, summer style was quite literal with their matching palm tree-print ensembles—a bright look that made us think of nothing but sunsets on the golden coast.
Disney starlet Bella Thorne is never shy when it comes to print-heavy outfits on the red carpet. For the 2013 Teen Choice Awards, Thorne was dressed in a two-piece outfit by Fausto Puglisi from the Resort 2014 collection.

Diane von Furstenberg visits Montreal’s C2 creative conference and explains why fashion trends are like sugar and salt
The second edition of C2-MTL (Montreal’s annual creative conference) was abuzz this year with fashion speakers and events. FASHION also attended an interview with larger-than-life Diane von Furstenberg who dazzled a packed room of spectators with her long legs, iconic style and words of empowerment. The latest DVF scoop is that she’s working on a new line of accessories and handbags, writing a book called The Woman I Wanted To Be (expected to hit stores next Mother’s Day), an exhibit in L.A. next year to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the wrap dress and a new television show.
Here are some choice DVF quotes of the day:

See the Diane Von Furstenberg looks up up-close »
Forget the runway, everyone knows there’s a whole other fashion show going down on its sidelines. At Diane Von Furstenberg’s Fall 2013 show during New York Fashion Week, we spotted two pretty little Canucks sporting two pretty little pairs of pants in dueling Valentine’s Day hues.
Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell wore DVF’s bright pink Naples tuxedo pant and paired it with very classic pieces allowing that power piece to shine: a relaxed black blazer, black blouse and black Christian Louboutin pumps. Mitchell complemented the pant with a pink pout perfectly highlighting the bright shade.

Kate Middleton leaves the hospital in a DVF coat with a bouquet of yellow roses as lovely as her smile
See this outfit up close in our complete Kate Middleton style gallery »
Since Monday’s very exciting announcement that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting, all eyes have literally been on the front doors of the King Edward VII hospital, awaiting any additional news about Kate Middleton’s pregnancy. (Seriously: scroll down here to see just how many cameras were stationed outside.) After four days of almost no news—other than rumours, a super creepy Prince William imposter and a terrible prank phone call—Kate was finally released from the hospital and sent home to Kensington Palace for further rest. We’re not the only ones incredibly excited to see her glowing face, right?
Prince William of course accompanied Kate from the hospital and the two wore almost-matching shades of periwinkle-blue—him in a sweater and her in a scarf. The colour complemented Kate Middleton’s herringbone-print Diane von Furstenberg coat perfectly.
