What’s in your bag, Tamara Mellon?
What’s in your bag, Tamara Mellon? »
In just over 10 years, Tamara Mellon has established herself as a titan of the fashion world. The former accessories editor turned CEO of Jimmy Choo built the label from the ground up, making it one of the most recognized names in luxury footwear and accessories (and worth upwards of $100 million to boot). After leaving the company in 2012 and penning an ultra-revealing autobiography In My Shoes, Mellon went back to the drawing board, launching a namesake label of her own last fall. Consisting of slick and sexy ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories for the ball-buster inside all of us, the label was an instant sell-out when it launched on Net-A-Porter. This season, the label launches at Holt Renfrew, which the 46-year-old OBE toasted last week in Toronto. While in town, we took a peek inside one of her new bags for a reveal of what a champion accessories designer carries along for a 24-hour jaunt.

Allison Williams vs. Scarlett Johansson: Who wore black and white best?
See the black and white looks up close »
Simple and demure was the name of the game for two of Hollywood’s style mavens. This past week, Allison Williams and Scarlett Johansson ditched the glitz and opted for a softer approach to dressing, sporting similarly casual black and white looks.
At the opening party for Diane Von Furstenberg’s “Journey of a Dress” retrospective exhibition at the Wilshire May Building in Los Angeles (on through April 1, 2014), Williams went apropos in a signature DVF wrap. The dress featured a simple black top and contrasting flared black and white polka dot skirt, which she paired with white Jimmy Choo ankle-strap heels and ‘40s glamour girl curls.

See our New Year’s Eve dressing picks »
There’s no time like the holiday season to bring on the bling in shiny metallics. On the runway, Marc Jacobs did it best in a gown (pictured above) laden with silver sequins. And for those other precious metals, we’re looking to Dolce & Gabbana, where tone-on-tone texture and all over patterns add a new dimension to the gold standard.

Kate Middleton wears a Temperley London gown to the movies
See more Kate Middleton style in our look book »
You know how you have a go-to outfit for certain occasions? Like, the wrap dress that always works for last-minute meetings or the J.Crew sweats and chambray shirt that have become your weekend uniform? Well, when you’re the Duchess of Cambridge, your go-to outfit game is a little more advanced. For instance, a night out at the movies calls for a stunning Temperley London gown. Okay, okay, we kid—but this was the second time that Kate’s worn the black less dress to the theatre (the first was for a screening of War Horse in January 2012) so at the very least, we have to assume it’s a gown that makes for a comfortable viewing experience.
Wednesday’s event was an advanced screening of the latest David Attenborough film, Natural History Museum Alive 3D. So yes: there are photos of Kate Middleton and Prince William wearing 3D glasses while in their black tie attire.

Kate Middleton channels her inner Audrey Hepburn in a pretty Temperley London dress
See more Kate Middleton style in our complete lookbook »
We may never forgive Kate Middleton for passing up the chance to party with Taylor Swift, but this new Temperley London dress is helping to make up for it. Last night Kate attended SportsBall, a gala event for SportsAid—which is one of her official patronages that is dedicated to supporting young British athletes and Olympic hopefuls. (It’s also the charity that caused that infamous post-pregnancy volleyball photo op.)
As for her outfit, Kate’s black Temperley London dress is from the label’s Fall 2012 collection and featured laser-cut detailing inspired by Renaissance stained glass. The nipped-in waist and full skirt gave it a very feminine feel—and it’s no surprise that various descriptions of the dress have included a nod to Audrey Hepburn.

Kate Middleton wears shimmering silver Jenny Packham on the red carpet
After a jam-packed week of red carpets in Toronto, we thought that gala event fatigue was setting in. But leave it to Kate Middleton to shake things up: yesterday she attended the Tusk Conservation Awards in a shimmering Jenny Packham gown that would have been right at home on the TIFF red carpet. It was Will and Kate’s first evening out together since the birth of Prince George and the little royal got a shout out when his father spoke during the event: “’Catherine and I have recently become proud parents of a baby who has a voice to match any lion’s roar. This is our first evening out without him… please excuse us if you see us nervously casting surreptitious glances at mobiles.”
Adorable! But let’s get back to what Kate was wearing. While it’s known that the sequin-studded dress is Jenny Packham, die-hard Middleton fans have been debating which collection it’s actually from.

Kristen Stewart Style: A Chronological Guide to the Star’s Best Fashion Moments
