Selena Gomez vs. Olivia Wilde: Which star wore red best at the ESPY awards?
While the ESPY (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly) awards may be a celebration for the superstars of the athletic world, it was A-list stars Selena Gomez and Olivia Wilde who stole our attention on the red carpet. Both wore red—a nod to this season’s primary colours trend, perhaps?—but it’s up to you to decide who deserves the title of best dressed.
It’s hard to imagine that Selena Gomez was eating KFC only hours before hitting the event. Though she may have a petite frame, the singer showed off her long legs in a red dress by Dolce & Gabbana from the Fall 2013 collection. (While the runway version hit at the knee, Gomez was wise to wear an altered mini-dress version.) Complete with three quarter sleeves, lace and jewelled embellishments, Gomez certainly stood out on the red carpet. Accessories were kept simple: she paired her outfit with black pointed-toe heels by Casadei and accessorized with jewellery by Neil Lane. Gomez’s hair was left down in soft curls—her signature style, really—and she finished off her beauty look with rosy cheeks and red nails to match her sultry red pout.

Cannes 2013: Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Watson, Nicole Kidman and more top our best Cannes red carpet looks
See all the Cannes 2013 red carpet photos »
The 66th annual Cannes Film Festival is underway and the never-ending parade of red carpet dresses certainly makes it one of the top sartorial events of the year. As a twelve-day film festival that hosts multiple parties, photo calls and premieres each day, A-list stars and international icons bringing their best looks to the French Riviera. To help keep track, we’re rounding up the top looks from the Cannes 2013 red carpet so far—and we’ll keep adding more as the festival continues.
Arguably the most anticipated movie of the year, The Great Gatsby, had its European premiere at Cannes last week—and the red carpet was filled with outfits just as glamourous as the film itself, including Cara Delevingne’s sultry Burberry laced ensemble and Carey Mulligan’s Dior Couture gown.
Meanwhile, Emma Watson turned heads last week at the premiere of her latest film, The Bling Ring, in a stunning Chanel gown. Earlier in the day, the wizard-turned-fame-obsessed-teen (that is, on screen!) showed off an equally stunning burgundy ensemble by Christopher Kane.

Gwyneth Paltrow vs. Jennifer Aniston: Who wore Dior best?
As Raf Simons continues to define Dior‘s 21st century aesthetic, celebrities are becoming more and more receptive to his streamlined designs. Case in point: A-listers like Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Aniston. Both actresses both wore Dior at different events on Tuesday. Brad history aside, we couldn’t help comparing the two.
Gwyneth Paltrow wore Dior Tuesday while she was in London to promote her new film Iron Man 3 at a photo-call. She chose a more classic Dior look, wearing a black and white Dior wool dress with silk velvet details. With co-star Robert Downey Jr. at her side, Paltrow showed off her gorgeous legs in the elegant dress that she paired with two-tone Manolo Blahnik heels. Paltrow is currently on a press tour for the film, and we have to say that this may be one of her best looks yet.
Jennifer Aniston was at the premiere of Lifetime’s Call Me Crazy: A Five Film in Los Angeles, where she wore a Dior black silk bustier and matching black shorts. The look was accessorized with a Tom Fold clutch, Jimmy Choo heels and a tousled updo with side swept bangs. Reaction to this look has been mixed. While some appreciate Aniston’s willingness to take a risk, others feel that the short shorts were a bit over-the-top and the look was too far outside of her comfort zone. But we were happy to see her try something different from the little black dresses she often wears.

Michelle Obama’s Jason Wu two-peat: Which of the First Lady’s inauguration dresses did you like best?
See both of Michelle Obama’s inauguration dresses up-close »
Four years ago, at the 2009 inauguration ball for President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama dazzled the crowd in a Jason Wu gown that helped catapult both of them into the fashion forefront. Everyone was predicting which new designer she would help rise to fame this time around, but Michelle Obama aka. @FLOTUS (First Lady of the United States) surprised everyone by donning yet another Jason Wu gown.
No one was more surprised than the designer himself. Wu told WWD, “Mrs. Obama likes to keep her secrets. She surprised me again. She’s really good at it. I was so nervous. You’d think I wouldn’t be since I’d experienced it before but I really was.” He spent the evening watching the Inauguration with his team and tweeted “#Inshock!!!” as soon as he saw the First Lady walk out on stage.

Kate Middleton looks radiant in an emerald Alexander McQueen gown while handing out awards with David Beckham

Last week Sarah Burton said she would like to create custom maternity wear pieces for Kate Middleton and, low and behold, last night the Duchess made her first official post-pregnancy-announcement appearance in an Alexander McQueen gown. Though to be completely fair, there was barely a baby bump to be seen, making the dress less maternity wear and more custom order. The bell-sleeve gown—which featured peplum detailing and a flattering thigh-high slit—was a stunning shade of emerald green, chosen by Kate herself. (It was originally designed in black.) Meaning that not even extreme sickness can keep Kate Middleton from being on trend: Emerald is, after all, Pantone’s just-announced Colour of the Year for 2013.

Kate Middleton looks festive in Mulberry but she might not be fond of her new bangs
See Kate Middleton’s outfit and new bangs up close! »
Kate Middleton seems to be getting into the Christmas spirit judging by the outfits we’ve seen her in the past couple of days.
On Monday Kate was seen in Wales at a rugby match in her red LK Bennett coat and yesterday she opted for the other color of Christmas, as she wore a green Mulberry dress at London’s Natural History Museum.
Making a solo appearance as the Guest of Honour at the opening of the museum’s new Treasures Gallery, Kate Middleton stepped out in her green Mulberry Cabbage Peace & Love dress (which she wore last year to a press reception for the Queen at Buckingham Palace) and her black suede Jimmy Choo cosmic pumps.

Maison Martin Margiela for H&M launch in Toronto: 33 photos of frenzied fans and instant-resellers over-grabbing candy clutches. No fair!
Check out the Maison Martin Margiela for H&M launch in Toronto »
H&M’s designer collaboration collections are famous for creating pandemonium—both industry-wide and on the sales floor. Launch day has become synonymous with block-scaling lines, fight-to-the-death shopping tactics. And so when the announcement came of the brand’s collaboration with conceptual industry favourite Maison Martin Margiela, we wondered how it would pan out as far as the general public was concerned. Margiela is not as household a name as say, Versace or Jimmy Choo.
Today, at Toronto’s Eaton Centre’s launch, it seems we got our answer. Smaller line, calmer crowd. No Versace level insanity.

Kate Middleton Attends the St Andrews Gala in a Temperley lace dress
View every look Kate Middleton has worn since her engagement »
It feels like forever since we last spotted Kate Middleton and Prince William out and about so we’re happy they made a comeback in style, and reused style at that. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge headed back to their alma mater (aka. where they first met!) St. Andrews in Scotland, to attend a fundraiser in honour of the university’s 600th anniversary.
In the spirit of looking back, Kate Middleton took a trip back into her closet to pull out some of her best pieces. We previously saw the Duchess of Cambridge wearing her black lace Temperley dress back in January at the War Horse premiere but for the gala, she renewed the look by adding a patriotic crimson poppy in honour of Sunday’s Remembrance Day. She also accessorized with a bright red Alexander McQueen box clutch that she carried during the Diamond Jubilee River Thames Pageant and a pair of Jimmy Choo Cosmos peeked out from under the floor length gown.

Kate Middleton attends a royal reception for Olympic and Paralympic athletes in custom Alice by Temperley
See our full gallery of all of Kate Middleton’s outfits! »
When we heard that Kate Middleton would be attending royal reception at Buckingham Palace to honour the Team GB Olympic and Paralympic medalists, we assumed the duchess would wear something blue—and when it was further revealed that the athletes would be wearing their formal Team GB attire, we added “designed by Stella McCartney” to our guess. After all, Kate Middleton wore the same blue Stella McCartney dress to two Olympic engagements back in July and she’s quite fond of matching her outfits to the occasion. But! We were wrong: instead of Olympic blue, Kate celebrated in a black and cream Alice by Temperley dress. While the duchess doesn’t often wear black (we had actually thought there were royal rules about when the colour was appropriate) the dress complemented the all-black Team GB attire of the other guests and allowed Kate to stand out—without taking the spotlight. Another thing to note about the dress is that it’s completely custom.
