Christmas Luxury Gifts: 75 fashion trend-inspired items to thrill the stylish ladies on your list
See all the Christmas luxury gifts »
Holiday shopping for the men and women in your life that have exquisite tastes can be a tricky task. But by taking hints from the Fall 2012 runways, shopping for Christmas luxury gifts can be managed a lot easier. We’ve compiled a list of luxury gift ideas just in time for the holiday season to be upon us.
Geometric prints were one of the biggest trends that came down runways for Fall 2012, so impress a lucky lady in your life by honing your Prada knowledge by choosing a luxury gift that is reminiscent of the brand’s fall collection. Or how about looking to the East for Asian-inspired prints in a shoe from Aldo or beauty travel case from Salvatore Ferragamo—both of which wouldn’t look out of place on the Proenza Schouler Fall 2012 runway.
Christmas luxury gifts can come in all shapes and sizes, but it all depends on the giftee’s personal style and tastes. That being said, a fan of Ralph Lauren’s Fall 2012 collection may not appreciate a D.L. & Co. skull candle; so choose your luxury gifts based on his or her sartorial favorites.
The influence of fashion on the gifts featured in our Christmas luxury gift guide will ease you into checking off the stylish family and friends in your life when doing your shopping this holiday season.

Christmas Hostess Gift Ideas: 61 creative ways to say thanks, all under $100
See Christmas hostess gift ideas »
Christmas is often the most stressful time of the year for many people. Even more so for those who decide to host the cocktail parties, the dinners, and the new years bashes (hats off to them). Because it’s a party faux pas to show up empty handed—especially when someone has spent hours preparing—we’ve thought of creative Christmas hostess gift ideas for those who bare the grunt of the work.
The bonus of shopping for a friend or family member who is constantly having people over, is that a gift that works as a thank you for planning a holiday party is also useful to their everyday life. Give them gifts that will help them relax after the fete dies down like a red wine and chocolate set or a scented candle that will make the rest of post-party worries melt away. From Cooking with Siracha to the now-classic Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty coffee table book, these items will look beautiful in a new apartment or well lived in home.

Take a look at Anthropologie’s latest batch of Made in Kind designer pieces and just try and tell us you don’t want them all!
Anthropologie’s July instalment for its monthly Made in Kind designer collaborations just launched yesterday, and like the past three months, the exclusive collections are nothing if not covetable. MIK vet Karen Walker is back, and this time, the Kiwi designer has created a series of coquettish Parisian pieces for her Hello There! From Karen Walker line. Newcomers like Brooklyn-based designer Ellen Van Dusen have joined the fold as well; her selected Dusen Dusen offerings were inspired by aerial photography, with pastel graphic stripes and swingy flare skirts.

Heading to the Queen’s Plate horse race this weekend? Here are 5 winning picks for what to wear
They’re at the post! Sunday marks the 153rd running of the Queen’s Plate horse race, the first of three races in Canada’s Triple Crown stakes. Basically, it’s our version of the Kentucky Derby but with regal roots: Queen Victoria founded the race in 1860 and members of the royal family have attended over a dozen times. Unfortunately, Queen Elizabeth won’t be cheering from the stands this weekend (she’s a little busy with her Diamond Jubilee celebrations) but that doesn’t make the day any less prestigious.
Which brings us to the question of what to wear? The all-day festivities require an outfit that will take you from the garden party in the walking ring to cheering in the sun-drenched grandstands. We may not have a Chanel-owned racehorse running, but our bets are on Sunday being quite the to-do. As such, here are our top picks for what to wear. (Also, we’ll put in our official request now for Will and Kate to attend next year!)

Get the look: Pop your collar with 10 shopping picks under $124 inspired by Nina Dobrev and Hilary Rhoda
We’ve been spotting collars everywhere lately, and our favourite recent iterations are Hilary Rhoda‘s adorable collared and pleated sun dress worn at last week’s Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic and Nina Dobrev‘s frothy white collared Max Mara dress worn to the brand’s Women In Film cocktail event last night. We love the mix of textures, patterns and colours we’ve seen, and we think an embellished collar is an easy way to make a statement while staying on trend for the season (just check out all the collar options that paraded down the Carven runway this spring). With so many cute collar options available, we’re sure you’ll be able to find one that suits your style personality.

Anthropologie unveils its Made in Kind designers for June including Canadian-made Norwegian Wood and more!
June is creeping up on us, which means it’s time for Anthropologie to unveil its next Made in Kind designer collaboration. This time the exclusive collection is heavy on the graphic details—unique prints (check out the monochromatic polar bear shift from up-and-comer Leah Goren), bold stripes and, true to Anthropologie’s aesthetic, a striking colour palette. We’re especially fond of the Canadian-made Norwegian Wood prints, which were inspired by the tile work found throughout the Montreal subway system.
