The sun finally showed itself for our final batch of street style from New York Fashion Week, allowing the kaleidoscopic effect created outside Fall 2013 to take hold. Be gone, grey skies!Swedish blogger Elin Kling embraced the cheery lighting with a long and lean white blazer, classic Ray-Ban wayfarers and slim jeans. Giovanna Battaglia brightened her day by pairing unexpected plum purple with brown fur. Anna Wintour debuted what is sure to be her new favourite Prada coat and it even seemed sunny and warm enough for Derek Blasberg to break out his adorable bike, which he rode to fashion week with nothing but a denim jacket to keep him warm. Chanel’s hula hoop bag! Anna Dello Russo in head-to-toe Prada! A post-Rodarte psychedelic ombré! Boy, are there ever some treasures to behold in today’s batch of street style photos out of New York Fashion Week. All that realness we talked about on Friday seems to have poof! melted with the snow—fashion’s show ponies are truly working for their place in the Fall 2013 spotlight.

While capturing the latest from street style regulars Susie Bubble, Miroslava Duma, Man Repeller Leandra Medine and Shala Monroque ducking in and out of It ticket shows including Rodarte, Narciso Rodriguez and Kate Middleton-favourite Jenny Packham, a few old favourites made their return to our the Fall 2013 radar. Case in point: the newly blond Ulyana Sergeenko, who with regal walker in tow, looked every bit as poster princess for Moscow’s matryoshka doll society as ever. Oh, to be a pore on that skin.

Fashion’s fixations were back for another day of street style action outside Fall 2013’s edition New York Fashion Week, and while the usual suspects were out in full force to see big name collections including 3.1 Phillip Lim, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Donna Karan, there are quite a few new darlings that are catching our eye.

Case in point: Our new favourite gal, Shine by Three blogger Margaret Zhang who looked ripe for the ‘80s-era Wall Street picking in grey suited layers. Obviously a fan of plaid, we photographed her wearing the same pattern in Friday’s street style batch alongside a few more layers of grungy goodness. Watch that face. Another new beauty, Natasha Goldenberg, whose matador-meets-Frida Kahlo-meets-Dries Van Noten look had us all abuzz. Save for the cell phone, she looks like a snapshot of another time we’d really like travel to.

Storm? What storm? If these street style photos from the last few days at New York Fashion week were any indication, Snowmageddon was but a blip on the Fall 2013 show season radar. Despite a record-breaking snowfall (ahem, have you seen the Long Island Expressway?), the fashion flock was rearing to go.

Whereas fur is typically the go to for cold weather fashion weeks (and was worn well by Joanna Hillman and Shala Monroque), it seemed there was a new motto this weekend: tailoring. Peacoats, riding coats, double-breasted wool coats and raincoats were largely favoured this weekend, with everyone from Miroslava Duma to Taylor Tomasi Hill diving in. Outside Friday and Saturday’s shows, Man Repeller Leandra Medine showcased two very different layered looks—a way oversized peacoat layered over jeans, a baggy blue jean button down and heeled white loafers on Friday, and a worn out motorcycle jacket overtop a loose flannel shirt, light boyfriend jeans and black suede booties on Saturday—both worn avec toques with enviable flops.

This stark colour-combo (or rather, lack-of-colour combo) made it big on the spring runways and now it’s made it to the Toronto streets. Considering how long it’s been popular, can black nail polish now be considered classic? Lauren Conrad brought it to the masses on many an episode of The Hills, it’s a common colour for starlets to wear on the red carpet, and almost every polish brand has one—or more!—black shades. While a dark manicure still stands out, a graphic design can give it even more power. This week, inspiration came from Chloé‘s Spring 2012 collection. I mixed stripes of black and white polish to create a slim design and left a sliver bare in the middle—just like the deep V-neck of the Chloé button-down.

Worn by Jessica Alba in the form of a simple menswear-inspired tux at the opening of Tommy Hilfiger’s first Asia flagship store; in the sweetest little Stella McCartney bow dress by Zooey Deschanel at the music video premiere of Paul McCartney’s “My Valentine” in Los Angeles; and finally, by Rihanna in a street-ready combo while on tour to promote her first acting gig in Battleship down under. Some of the top Fall runway trends made their way deep into red carpet territory tonight, as the A-listers put on Hollywood’s biggest and best parade. From the rich reds on Emma Stone and Natalie Portman seen this season on the runway at Michael Kors, to the crisp whites on Gwyneth Paltrow, Rooney Mara, and Octavia Spencer seen at Raf Simons‘ last Jil Sander collection (not to mention everywhere at the Golden Globes), to the peplums spotted on Michelle Williams, Tina Fey, and just about every runway from New York to Milan, it seems that everyone is drinking the same Kool-Aid.
