Met Gala 2014: The 54 best dressed on last night’s epic red carpet
See the complete Met Gala 2014 red carpet »
If reports about Anna Wintour wanting this year’s Met Gala to be more exclusive were true, they certainly did not apply to the A-list. Last night’s red carpet was stacked (and we mean stacked) with just about everyone from the recluse to rising star. Surely, it had something to do with the fact that last night was the inaugural Met Gala celebrating the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s renamed Anna Wintour Costume Center. Maybe too, it was just like the rest of us have been trained to understand: The Met Gala is not to be missed.
Honouring oft-forgotten American couturier Charles James, last night’s event was all about 1950s glamour. Its “white tie” guest-list prompted gents like Johnny Depp and Kanye West to wear tails, Zoe Saldana to wear a recreated Michael Kors bustle and both Taylor Swift and Sarah Jessica Parker to take to the stairs with over-the-top Oscar de la Renta trains. Unlike the sometimes cookie cutter Oscars, the Met Gala is a time to break out some real steez and red carpet queen Lupita Nyong’o did just that in a flapper-inspired feathered Prada dress. Perhaps more Poiret than James, the dress made for some serious chatter from both the “for” and “against” camps. Fellow red carpet queen (and queen of life, truly) Rihanna went anti-theme in a sexy stomach-baring Stella McCartney dress which killed, as usual.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West get their Vogue Magazine cover
To quote Justin Bieber: never say never. Kim Kardashian finally has her Vogue cover. After years of proverbially taking Anna Wintour‘s sh*t, fashion’s grand high poobah has finally granted the reality star a pass. In the just-released image, Kardashian is pictured in the arms of fiancé Kanye West wearing a wedding dress, her multi-carat engagement ring and accompanied by the caption #worldsmosttalkedaboutcouple.
A hashtag on the cover of Vogue. A Kardashian on the cover of Vogue. In this moment, the high-lo universe we call home has come together with surreal cultural clarity. Just let that sink in as you watch Kimye produce the high fashion version of their last collaborative masterpiece below.

Street Style, Paris: 20 beautiful shots of models and fashion week stars outside the Fall 2014 shows
See the street style from outside Paris Fashion Week »
After Milan’s colourful and delightfully wacky getups, the street style from outside Paris Fashion Week Fall 2014 is practically sombre in comparison. We mean that in the best way possible. A lack of pastel coats and flamboyant suits just seems to play into that effortlessly cool Parisian style—slouchy pants and sci-fi garb never looked so good.
With all of the blockbuster shows going on, many models were out and about in between shows. Fresh off the Dries Van Noten runway (we’d recognize the show’s dramatic eyeliner from a mile away) Hanne Gaby Odiele was spotted, first on the street and later taking it all in from the comfort of the back seat. Fellow catwalk star, Canadian model Grace Mahary, was feeling especially sassy in leather on leather, creating a good-humoured stick-up with her finger guns. Soo Joo Park was equally playful swinging her coat tails about, showing off her impossibly long gams in high waisted shorts and over the knee socks.

Street Style, New York: We spot Jenna Lyons, Miroslava Duma, Olivia Palermo and more outside the Fall 2014 shows
While many of us spent the weekend huddled inside watching the Sochi action, New York Fashion Week kept editors, bloggers and fashion lovers out and about in the cold for the Fall 2014 shows. With all the commuting between venues—from Manhattan to Brooklyn and back again—cozy outerwear and slush-proof footwear was essential.
Fur continues to be a huge trend outside the tents, with everything from bright-blue faux to ’70s shearling to a mod Isabel Marant racoon coat being snapped by our street style photographer, Stefania Yarhi. Eva Chen kept things light and youthful in a super fluffy snowman-esque coat and rainbow-metallic kicks, while Jenna Lyons effortlessly worked the quirky mismatched-yet-tailored style she pioneered.

Up close and personal with Anna Wintour (kinda): The 5 best nuggets from her talk at the Apple store in Soho
It’s that time of year again: the fashion crowd has descended on New York City to kick off yet another manic month of fashion shows, street style snaps and hoofing it all over town in heels. Adding fuel to the fashion week frenzy this year is Apple’s “Fashion In Conversation” series of talks with a lineup of industry insiders so impressive, conflicting shows may want to double check those RSVPs. Kicking off the series last night was none other than Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who sat down with host Kinvara Balfour to talk about her career, Lena Dunham as cover girl and favourite designers (sort of). If you couldn’t make it out to the event, you’re in luck—the video will be posted to iTunes at some point, but for the impatient, here are our favourite moments from Anna’s talk.

Top Spring 2014 Trends: 200 fashion week photos
See the biggest Spring 2014 fashion trends »
See all our fashion month coverage »With the end of fashion week in Toronto marking the close of Spring 2014 show season, it’s time we looked back at all the trends that emerged. As much as the runway sets the pace for what’s to come for the top Spring 2014 trends, the streets play a major role as show-going trendsetters give us the relatable breakdown of how to wear what’s hot next season. Prints take two spots on our top Spring 2014 trends list through those with a painterly quality and those influenced by international cultures. At Hérmes, Rousseau-inspired water lily florals were printed on luxurious fabrics while at Diane Von Furstenberg, dresses and skirts depicting an African wilderness roared. As for fashionable time travel, prepare to keep reminiscing about the youthful 1990s, which haven’t ceased to get reincarnated season after season. Designers like Rodarte, Balmain and Jason Wu have reinvented the decade’s essentials yet again. To help with your daydreaming of long sunny spring days we’ve compiled the ultimate gallery of top Spring 2014 trends as dictated by the runways and our favourite street style stars in New York, London, Milan, Paris and Toronto! Feel free to let this be your guide to budgeting and creating closet space for next season’s must have pieces.
