They said/We said: Calvin Klein’s on-again/off-again boyfriend was arrested for assault and cocaine possession. Oh the scandal!

Photography by Gary Gershoff/Getty Images for The Weinstein Company We’re betting Calvin Klein has got his legendary knickers in a knot. On-again/off-again boyfriend Nick Gruber’s facing serious legal woes: the 22-year-old was arrested Tuesday for resisting arrest, misdemeanor assault against pal Calvin Swift and possession of cocaine.
Gruber (for unknown reasons) decided to brawl with his friend Swift at his West Village penthouse around 4:20 a.m. When cops arrived at the scene, he thrashed his arms to avoid being cuffed, shoving his hands down his pants in an attempt to conceal cocaine in his (CK?) underwear.
Gruber, a former erotic model, planned to move West to pursue… well… a somewhat more clothed career in reality TV (according to the New York Daily News he was auditioning for Big Brother earlier this month, but didn’t receive a callback). But looks like the only reality show he may be scoring is Celebrity Rehab.
Swift declined to press charges against his buddy and said Gruber is “lost” in the melodrama that is his relationship to the much-older and much-wealthier Klein. Nursing a bruised eye and a bruised ego Swift mockingly added, “Nick’s got plans, you know, I have dreams, too. I want to be the mayor of New Jersey when I grow up.”
Hmm, we wonder what Gruber’s famous (former?) beau thinks of all this. Perhaps as punishment, Gruber will have to wave au revoir to his swanky apartment that Klein bought for him.

Oh, how we love red carpet season. It seems that weekly, we’re showered with stunning photos of Hollywood’s A-List showing off like it’s nobody’s business. (Well, actually, it is our business.) At last night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, it seemed that this year’s nominees and stars were channeling their onscreen roles, with Michelle Williams in a va-va-voom lace Valentino, Shailene Woodley in a Hawaiian-esque floral-print L’wren Scott, and Emma Stone in a retro-shaped Alexander McQueen cocktail number. So, who wore it best? Check out our top 8 and vote for your favourite.

Calvin Klein kicks off its planned Canadian domination with Joe Jonas and screaming girls in tow

Photography by George Pimentel The latest in a long line of American brands setting out for Canadian domination, Calvin Klein is poised to take over our fair land with 40 stores planned to open within the next five years! With spots like Montreal’s Marché Central and Mississauga’s Heartland Town Centre that opened earlier this fall, the brand officially kicked off their northern invasion last Thursday at the newest location, Toronto’s Fairview Mall, with canapés, a performance by Joe Jonas, and a gaggle of adoring fans. The brand’s global creative director Kevin Carrigan and Tom Murry, the president and CEO, were also on hand to celebrate the grand opening, but we were lucky enough to meet the two last month at their Spring 2012 preview, an event that also boasted some major hunk appeal—a group of barely clothed and seriously Adonis-like male models and freshly sunned gals.

Vote! Who wore it best at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Emerging Talent awards?
Industry darling Joseph Altuzarra was named the 2011 recipient of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award for emerging talent last night in New York. Altuzarra, known for his complex seaming and fitted pants, won a $300,000 cash prize and a mentorship program from the CFDA’s Business Advisory Committee including Anna Wintour and CFDA president Diane Von Furstenberg. Macabre jeweler Pamela Love and newcomers Shane Gabier and Chris Peters of Creatures of the Wind both won runner up prizes of $100,000 each.
Meanwhile, on the red carpet, the bright young things were out in full American-made force, decked out in everything from fellow nominees Cushnie et Ochs and Suno to the event’s title speaker Calvin Klein. Oh, and Jenna Lyons was there too. (“Nothing to see here, folks!”)

Find out how to dress up as Karl Lagerfeld »Halloween is just a week away, and that means it’s officially costume crunch time. In order to stir up some inspiration, we’re turning to some of our favourite and most interesting fashion icons. Each day this week we’ll showcase a costume that doesn’t involve devoting all your evenings to sewing sessions and papier-mâché messes. (And if you do end up dressing up as one of our suggestions, please share it with us on Twitter or Facebook!)
First up, everyone’s favourite fashion uncle, Karl Lagerfeld. We think this is a très chic costume for both guys and gals, and that’s not just because you get to wear a white old-timey powdered wig.
