Busy weekend for Kate Middleton: She debuts new items from Erdem, Emilia Wickstead and… Gap?
See all 5 of Kate’s looks from the weekend »
It was a very busy weekend for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge—but busy is always welcome for those of us obsessed with the royals, especially when you consider that Kate Middleton had 5 outfit changes! We have photos of every single look in our massive Kate Middleton style gallery, but here’s a rundown of what the royals got up to in New Zealand.
On Saturday, the Cambridges went to Cambridge! The couple toured the town and met with locals who lined the streets. Kate debuted a new coat by Erdem—a bright green, knee-length coat with front zip from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection. She paired it with a floral print tea dress by Suzannah, though only the hemline was visible. Knowing Kate, we’ll likely see this dress in full at some point in the future. Since when doesn’t she wear an item more than once?

All new Gap: Inside the retailer’s Spring 2014 collection with powerhouse creative director Rebekka Bay
See the Gap Spring 2014 lookbook »
There’s nothing the fashion world loves more than a new style muse and when Gap hired Rebekka Bay as its creative director last year, our sartorial spidey senses went into overdrive. The mastermind behind upscale H&M sister brand COS, the soft-spoken Danish designer has already achieved cult standing among editors, bloggers and cool kids alike for her sophisticated approach to modern minimalist dressing.
Spring 2014 marks Bay’s first collection with Gap, and if insider reactions at the presentation in New York back in October were any indication, she hasn’t lost her Midas touch. Featuring a summer-ready lineup of acid-wash jeans, bleached pastels and perfectly slouchy sweatshirts, her spring collection is a lust-worthy first look at a re-imagined Gap and a new American style that’s refreshing, relaxed and seriously cool. We sat down with the newly minted creative director after her spring presentation to talk icons, Americana and giving Gap its mojo back.

See our 15 clutch must-haves »
Bigger isn’t always better when it comes to Spring 2013 accessories and this season we’re holding on to statement clutches in all shapes, sizes and patterns.
While those larger than life body bags were the ultimate standard only a few seasons ago, Spring 2013 is the time to edit what’s inside your bag and retain only the essentials (iPhone, lipstick, wallet and that’s about it).
The clutch purse was everywhere on the international runways, and its appeal ran the gamut from quirky (a candy button style turquoise number at Fendi) to 1990s-inspired (a plaid fold-over bag at Dries Van Noten) to the really old school (Céline’s take on the classic brown lunch bag, which was reinvented in bright red leather.)

More cuteness coming: Diane von Furstenberg announces second collection for Gap
Did you miss out on the Diane von Furstenberg collection for GapKids and babyGap last year? Good news! Gap has just announced that a second collection will be released for April 2013.
Diane von Furstenberg is known for her use of bright, punchy colours and patterns—-a perfect complement to Gap’s children lines. The first collection was a huge success. “I really loved the challenge of translating my designs into the first DVF for Gap collection,” said the designer via press release. “It was so much fun to see little girls wearing the pieces and I’m looking forward to collaborating with Gap on this second collection.”
