Top Spring 2014 Trends: 200 fashion week photos
See the biggest Spring 2014 fashion trends »
See all our fashion month coverage »With the end of fashion week in Toronto marking the close of Spring 2014 show season, it’s time we looked back at all the trends that emerged. As much as the runway sets the pace for what’s to come for the top Spring 2014 trends, the streets play a major role as show-going trendsetters give us the relatable breakdown of how to wear what’s hot next season. Prints take two spots on our top Spring 2014 trends list through those with a painterly quality and those influenced by international cultures. At Hérmes, Rousseau-inspired water lily florals were printed on luxurious fabrics while at Diane Von Furstenberg, dresses and skirts depicting an African wilderness roared. As for fashionable time travel, prepare to keep reminiscing about the youthful 1990s, which haven’t ceased to get reincarnated season after season. Designers like Rodarte, Balmain and Jason Wu have reinvented the decade’s essentials yet again. To help with your daydreaming of long sunny spring days we’ve compiled the ultimate gallery of top Spring 2014 trends as dictated by the runways and our favourite street style stars in New York, London, Milan, Paris and Toronto! Feel free to let this be your guide to budgeting and creating closet space for next season’s must have pieces.
View by trend: 1. 1990s | 2. Art-Inspired | 3. Athletic | 4. Blue | 5. Crop Tops | 6. Embellishment | 7. Metallic | 8. Pleats | 9. Sheer | 10. Worldly

Spring 2014 shoes: 55 favourites we’re already itching to get our feet into
See our favourite Spring 2014 shoes »
With Paris Fashion Week ending our month long preview of all things Spring 2014, it’s time we gushed over the shoes that accompanied all that we are dying to wear in the coming season.
Femininity reigned supreme on the runway through Balenciaga, Dior and Roland Mouret’s take on the stiletto. Dior’s complexly inter woven straps would make any shoe addict salivate. At Balmain, our impending full coverage boots will shed a few layers and appear as heeled boots with varying dotted sheer and embellished cage finishes. While we saw Saint Laurent’s fall styles embrace the studded and spiked appeal of punk’s aesthetic, Junya Watanabe clung onto the trend for his Spring 2014 shoes with a menacing ankle boot. Enviable green snakeskin heels and platform chunky heels were seen at Gucci and Michael Kors respectively. Spring is incomplete without feather embellished flats as seen at Rochas.

Boobies in Paris! Kim Kardashian plays hide and seek with the assets at Paris Fashion Week
Kim Kardashian at Paris Fashion Week »
Kim Kardashian must think it serendipitous that the oversized outerwear trend hit just after she’d given birth to her daughter North West. Like the high fashion version of chopping your hair into a mommy bob, big ole coats are like the ultimate “getting back into the groove” essential. Coincidentally, they’re also pretty chic right now. Kardashian wore the same Max Mara camel coat 3 times over the past couple of days as she hit Paris Fashion Week with Kanye West (he wasn’t wearing leather jogging pants, but hey, this is France). Kardashian styled the coat over leggings while shopping on Avenue Montaigne, then again over a simple beige minidress, then earlier today as she returned back home to Los Angeles overtop jeans and moccasins. Versatility comes first, even if you’re a Kardashian?

Street Style, Paris: Ciara, Man Repeller and Miroslava Duma rock monochromatic goodies outside fashion week
See the street style looks from Paris »
As Paris Fashion Week comes inches towards a close for Spring 2014, Mother Nature has provided us with cloudy grey skies. The silver lining, however, is that that ominous shade serves as the perfect backdrop for trendsetters to flaunt their outfits du jour.
Yesterday, fashion week’s street style stars embraced two divergent colour palettes. Half of them have a penchant all things monochrome, interweaving delicate fabrics with bold, edgy prints and textures. Elena Perminova had legs for miles in a black Chanel bell dress that looked like a starry night sky in reverse. Hip hop star Ciara channeled the black and white look as well in a pretty lace get-up outside Valentino.

Emmys 2013: Our top 20 best dressed on the red carpet
See the Emmys 2013 red carpet gallery »
The Primetime Emmy Awards were held last night in L.A. drawing the stars of our favourite highly addictive shows. From Kerry to Carrie and beyond, the red carpet was lined with gown after gown of the most feminine pinks, vibrant blues and fresh off the runway pieces.
Making a simple but bold statement with fall’s pink trend, Rose Byrne showed clean lines in a petal pink Calvin Klein cropped two-piece as did January Jones in a textured Spring 2014 Givenchy strapless gown by Riccardo Tisci. Sisters Zooey and Emily Deschanel wore similarly hued gowns by J.Mendel and Houghton as they presented an award onstage. Blue was also popular for Tina Fey and Allison Williams, who worked cobalt blue in Narsico Rodriguez and Ralph Lauren respectively.
Our Emmys 2013 standouts include the ever-smoldering Sofia Vergara whose mind-blowing curves left us with body envy. The Modern Family star sizzled in a crimson Vera Wang gown and emerald Lorraine Schwartz earrings. Claire Danes, who walked away with a coveted Emmy for Best Actress in a Drama, was delicate in an off white Armani Privé Fall 2013 gown.
Accompanying the glamour came an evening chock full of surprises, laughs and unforgettable acceptance speeches. Memorable moments include the host Neil Patrick Harris’s mid-show musical number, Michael Douglas’s Liberace-esque speech and the funny and casually dressed Will Ferrell. With the best leading ladies in primetime television satisfying our sartorial needs on the red carpet and dapper gents as far as the eye could see at the Emmys 2013, glamour was definitely in the air!
Who was your favourite of the evening?

Jennifer Aniston loves the mini dress! But which look do you like best?
See Jennifer Aniston’s premiere looks up close »
The mini dress was definitely the outfit of choice for many celebrities this summer. While young stars like Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez showed their love for the shorter length, Jennifer Aniston proved that with a toned physique, you can pull this look off at any age. While promoting her new film We’re the Millers, Aniston wore a mini dress not once, but twice—and rocked it both times.
While the London premiere was dreary with the rainfall, the Friends star got heads turning when she arrived on the red carpet. Opting for an outfit in tune with summer, Aniston wore a mini blue floral-print dress by Christian Dior from the Resort 2013 collection, complete with a contrasting white floral underskirt. While she accessorized with a pair of black-heeled sandals by Casadei, we couldn’t keep our eyes off of her incredible engagement ring. Known for her effortless beauty and style, Aniston topped off her look with her famous tousled waves, rosy cheeks and a touch of red for her lips.

Catching up with Courtney Love: the Rock Monarch on her Upcoming Tour and the Problem with Faux Punks
See Courtney Love’s lasting effects on the 2013 runways »
It’s beginning to look like Courtney Love could have a breakthrough year ahead of her. As her North American tour can attest—she performs in Toronto on July 20 and in Vancouver July 22—the 49-year-old artist is firing up an inferno of a comeback trail.
Having just opened a major art exhibition with David LaChapelle at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum, the former Hole frontwoman seems to be more industrious than she’s been in years. She’s in the throes of completing her autobiography (slated to hit shelves in December), she recently finished a fashion campaign with none other than Saint Laurent and is putting the finishing touches on tracks for an upcoming solo disc (rumoured to be titled Died Blonde).
On July 9—the day of her birthday—Love had a quick chat with FASHION’s features editor, Elio Iannacci, to talk about her upcoming Canadian concert dates, her thoughts on Hollywood punks and the importance of saying no to reality TV.
