Coachella 2013: Capturing the brightest and best fashions during the festival’s second weekend
See the street style photos from Coachella Weekend 2 »
It’s the great Coachella debate: which weekend is better? Because Coachella has two weekends for maximal festival party times, last week, we saw everything we expected from festivalgoers from floral crowns to 90s throwback hairstyles and this weekend, it’s a similar story with different dates.
Toronto-based photographer, Dana Richardson Blewett, worked her way through the festival grounds at Coachella 2013, to capture the scene as people danced to Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, Major Lazer and Wu-Tang Clan in short-shorts, prints, and crocheted pieces.

Coachella beauty and beyond: How to do your hair and makeup for a music festival
Music festivals should be all about the music, but given the popularity of our Coachella fashion slideshow, it’s safe to say that festival style is the unofficial headliner of the season. What would our Instagram feeds be like without Coachella? 2013’s music season is officially underway and its always-awesome burst of festival fashion couldn’t have come at a more welcome time. While the rest of us were begging for anything over 10˚c, we lived vicariously through shots of Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine and Alexa Chung bathing in the Californian sun while they, and the rest of the massive crowd, enjoyed epic sets but some of music’s greats (ahem Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stone Roses, New Order) and one very special video preview of Daft Punk’s much anticipated new album. Ah, the life.

H&M, The New Icon: The retailer’s latest collection gives model off-duty style a permanent place in our closets
See H&M’s The New Icon collection »
H&M strikes again. Yesterday they were making our hearts race with a campaign fronted by Queen Beyoncé (bow down, b***es) and today we found out the Swedish brand will be releasing a collection inspired and modeled by four of fashion’s other favourites—models Joan Smalls, Daphne Groeneveld, Lindsey Wixson, and Liu Wen.
Titled “The New Icon,” the collection is set to hit store floors mid-April and consists of festival ready looks like a tasseled leather jackets, bolo ties, and western inspired ankle boots that are indicative of model off duty style. For those of you who don’t know what that means, it’s basically an effortless look you would spot a model in while she runs from show to show (that would likely be captured by one of many street style photographers).

Get ready to peel back those layers, kids. Here comes the sun. Spring 2013 is finally upon us, and with it comes an onslaught of new fashionable desires. From Marc Jacobs’ 1960s Edie Sedgwick infatuation to Dries Van Noten and Phillip Lim’s ode to 1990s grunge, believe us, we’ll have plenty of Spring 2013 fashion goodness to work from. Aside from the various time stamps, designers found inspiration worldwide this season: Japan (Prada, Haider Ackermann and Etro were all Asian-inspired), Italy (Proenza Schouler and Altuzarra put heels on the gladiator sandal), the US West Coast (beach prints reigned supreme at Victoria Beckham), the travelling music festival (Coachella 2013 brought to you by Tory Burch and Isabel Marant?) and even underwater (say hello to Seapunk, your newest fascination).

Top 10 Fashion Trends, Spring 2013: We distill over a month of runway and street style photos into 100 of the season’s strongest moments
See the biggest Spring 2013 fashion trends »
See all of our fashion month coverage »It’s official, Spring 2013 fashion month is over. And after receiving a daily dose of street style photos and runway updates, it would be silly for us to ignore the trends that we saw day after day (after day, after day). It’s hard not to fall victim to sensory overload, but thankfully our street style photographer, Stefania Yarhi, made it easy for us to pick and choose which trends we know we’ll be seeing all spring long. With hundreds of photos from Paris, Milan, London, New York, and Toronto at our disposal, we just couldn’t ignore the countless graphic tops (a day without a Balenciaga sci-fi sweater sighting was a total shocker), exposed bellies, suits, and mixed prints—so we didn’t because we’re positive they will be huge come Spring 2013. We’ve selected 10 of the biggest fashion trends from the streets and the runways and put them together in one place, so gets to clickin’. The leaves may just be starting to fall, but it’s never too early to plan for spring, right? (RIGHT!)

Toronto Fashion Week Spring 2013: Chloé Comme Parris dive deep into California culture
View the full Chloé Comme Parris Spring 2013 collection »
The twisted sisters behind favourite Toronto-label Chloé Comme Parris were back with a decidedly sunny disposition for Spring 2013, deep diving into California culture last night with their latest show at Toronto Fashion Week. Chloé and Parris Gordon prove their envious skills season after season (need an age refresher? They’re just 24 and 22 respectively), and this time around it was no different.
Opening with the CCP take on the three-piece suit (think neutral-on-neutral and a button-up to boot), the 23-look collection flowed from one to the next with soft shades, airy layers and floral watercolour prints. The duo’s signature double-layer effect was as well done on a navy shirtdress as it was a short pair of slit leather shorts. The piece de resistance, however, was a pale pink motorcycle jacket that featured a thin elastic strap through the back. (Maybe you’d never actually tie a motorcycle jacket up, but hey, it sure looks modern).

Toronto Fashion Week Spring 2013: Laura Siegel’s desert-ready collection has sent us packing for the Sahara
View the Laura Siegel Spring 2013 collection »
Just add a desert and you’ve got the perfect background for Laura Siegel’s Spring 2013 collection. Instead of bring sand storms indoors; the first show of the inaugural year of The Collections featured models perched (some teetering) on wooden boxes with colourful cacti at their feet.
Adding to the pops of colour on the floor, the models had a case of pink eye—lids were lined in a bright verging on neon pink shadow and messy updos and braids were completed by streaks of fuchsia.

Front Row Battles: From Emma Stone and Dianna Agron at Miu Miu to Lana Del Rey and Alexa Chung at Mulberry, who did Spring 2013 FROW best?
Check out our front row pictures from Spring 2013 Fashion Week! »
Front row seating at the Spring 2013 Fashion Week collections has been an exciting who’s-who jumble of predictable favourites and amazing surprises this year.
Miu Miu’s Spring 2013 collection was presented today in Paris, with Glee’s Dianna Agron front and centre of the It girl mélage that came to check out Miuccia’s latest creations. Looking quite mod, she wore a ‘60s look of a turquoise dress, blue heels and purple tights, all by Miu Miu. Dianna Agron was seen with actress Amanda Seyfried who was wearing a Prada suit, Emma Stone and Felicity Jones both in Miu Miu and fashion week fixture and designer herself Chloë Sevigny. The girls looked like they were about star in the brand’s latest campaign, although Sevigny can already boast about that.

Paris Fashion Week Spring 2013: See-through trousers at Dries Van Voten, peplum hems (and a bit of Gaga) at Mugler, champagne with Eddie Borgo and more
It’s Paris. It’s raining. And the fashion cognoscenti are rethinking their footwear for Paris Fashion Week Spring 2013. Velvet slippers are out. And maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to leave the Hunter wellies at home. Here are some high and low lights from my first day in the city of light: Champagne with […]
