Street Style, New York: 52 photos of Hudson’s Bay stripes, spring-worthy layers and ’90s style outside the Fall 2014 shows
Despite the still-cold, still-snowy conditions in New York City, yesterday the fashion set threw caution to the chilly wind and made like it was spring. Breezy layers, exposed legs and bright colours continued to be popular street style choices outside Monday’s Fall 2014 shows, which included Carolina Herrera, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Theory. There were obviously some people who heeded their mother’s advice from years gone by and bundled up—but even then a colourful, strappy shoe or sheer layer helped liven the look up.
In today’s batch of photos, our photographer Stefani Yarhi did a little stripe spotting, capturing two colourful Hudson’s Bay blanket coats in Monday’s street style mix. Also wearing a rainbow of colour was Helena Bordon, in head-to-toe Spring 2014 Prada including the coveted pop art-inspired jacket, athletic shin socks and an embellished skirt. Leandra Medine wore a gorgeous tangerine duster, done in ’90s minimalism with high-waisted denim and an off-white turtleneck and sweater.

Street Style, New York: We spot Jenna Lyons, Miroslava Duma, Olivia Palermo and more outside the Fall 2014 shows
While many of us spent the weekend huddled inside watching the Sochi action, New York Fashion Week kept editors, bloggers and fashion lovers out and about in the cold for the Fall 2014 shows. With all the commuting between venues—from Manhattan to Brooklyn and back again—cozy outerwear and slush-proof footwear was essential.
Fur continues to be a huge trend outside the tents, with everything from bright-blue faux to ’70s shearling to a mod Isabel Marant racoon coat being snapped by our street style photographer, Stefania Yarhi. Eva Chen kept things light and youthful in a super fluffy snowman-esque coat and rainbow-metallic kicks, while Jenna Lyons effortlessly worked the quirky mismatched-yet-tailored style she pioneered.

Man Repeller at Holt Renfrew: The best nuggets from our live Q&A with the blogger turned writer in Toronto
Earlier this month, Leandra Medine aka. The Man Repeller was at Holt Renfrew in Toronto to promote the release of her first book, Man Repeller: Seeking Love, Finding Overalls. In typically self-deprecating form, Medine charts the story of her life’s course thusfar alongside several fashion items, including the Canadian tuxedo she helped transform from early ought disaster a la Justin and Britney to the height of fashion. The items, set up as life lessons (harem pants = the way to suss out if a guy loves you for you, Bermuda shorts = how to sort out your body issues) prove why fashion isn’t just simply a fact of life, but life itself, at least for fashion freaks like us.
Before an intimate dinner at Rose and Sons, Medine sat for a live Q&A at Holts hosted by yours truly. We both sat in director’s chairs amidst racks of Helmut Lang and 3.1 Phillip Lim. There were many cute gals in attendance. It was a thrill.
Here are some of the best quips from our interview:

Monochromatic outfits were once again the trend on day two of Paris Fashion Week. There’s nothing like a bold statement colour to stand out from the rest of the stylish crowd (and get captured by our photographer Guilhem Malissen, of course).
Pulling off the tone-on-tone ensemble is no easy task, but showgoers prove to us exactly why they are fashion week’s street style stars. Stephanie LaCava mesmerized us in an off-the-shoulder emerald green dress, while another stopped us in our tracks in a head to toe bright red ensemble. But really bringing single hue outfits to a whole new level are street stylers who mixed different prints and textures (like a leopard print jacket and patent leather skirt or a striped cropped jacket and polka dot shirt) to make monochromatic ensembles that much more chic.

Street Style, New York: 17 photos of Leandra Medine, Anna Dello Russo and more on the final day of Spring 2014 shows
New York Fashion Week has officially wrapped up with top-tiered shows by Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs finishing the week off on a stylish note. But before everyone flies off to the other side of the Atlantic, let’s have one last look at New York street style’s finest, captured by our photographer Stefania Yarhi.
With yesterday’s weather still relatively warm, many of the ladies took full advantage and bared some skin on the last day of NYFW. Possibly influenced by the minimalist looks on the runways, our favourite Russian beaut Miroslava Duma—whose outfits never fail to disappoint—wowed in a two-tone sleeveless calf-length dress. Leandra Medine also exposed her legs in a pair of high-waist shorts and high-heeled Balenciaga oxfords, but it was Anna Dello Russo (of course!) who caught everyone’s attention in a white mini dress and a pair of Céline furry neon-yellow pumps. Also killing it with the accessories was one stunning blonde who strutted the streets like nobody’s business in a black sheer laced dress and a lust-worthy “Cool” Lanvin necklace.

Street Style, New York: 53 photos of style stars (and Barbara Walters!) braving the heat outside Spring 2014 fashion week
Despite the scorching heat wave, street style regulars were definitely into leather on day six of New York Fashion Week Spring 2014.
Many fashion enthusiasts layered classic leather jackets or vests over their summery outfits, but Miroslava Duma and blogger Chiara Ferragni rocked the leather trend by pulling out maxi and studded mini respectively.
The Beckerman sisters joined in on the leather-clad fun. While Samantha Beckerman opted for a pleated black skirt and a Marc Jacobs Mickey Mouse sweater, Cailliane went rocker chic in a Rodarte black and red-fringed leather vest and Mickey printed leggings. Style to spare in duplicates, those girls.
Accessories were definitely making a statement on the streets. From Leandra Medine’s colourful arm candy to a furry black and blue clutch adding texture to a head to toe black ensemble, accessories were stealing the spotlight. Even the much-coveted mini Chanel hula-hoop purse made an appearance.
While the vast majority strutted the streets outside New York Fashion Week in killer heels, flats, sneakers and furry Céline sandals were the popular and definitely more comfortable choice. Even Anna Dello Russo, the queen of statement stilettos, wore leather boots, albeit bejewelled and bedazzled.

Street Style, New York: 45 photos of stylish Canadians, rock gods and statement accessories at Spring 2014 fashion week

The sun was out on day four of New York Fashion Week Spring 2014. So were the style stars and their accessories. Carine Roitfeld’s wrap-around sunglasses were totally Star Trek and totally amazing. Just as great was Giovanna Battaglia’s pilgrim belt that was so wide it could probably double as a shirt (see below re: crop tops). But it was neckgear that was the must-have accessory of the moment. These jewels were so chunky they were essentially clavicle armour. Case in point: Man Repeller Leandra Medine’s Frankensteinian choker.
Also out in full force? Shoulders. Like those of Moda Operandi’s Taylor Tomasi Hill and Danielle Prescod, who were just two of the showgoers to embrace the off the shoulder and strapless looks. And it if wasn’t a shoulder it was (still!) definitely a tummy. If the sidewalks have anything to say about it, crop tops will be around for a while.

See the biggest Fall 2013 fashion trends »
See all our fashion month coverage »Fashion month may have finally wrapped, but that doesn’t mean it’s time to forget about the trends that emerged for Fall 2013 on the many runways of New York, London, Milan, Paris and Toronto—In fact, it’s time for them to take front and centre. While shoppers everywhere are snapping up the best of the selling floor’s offerings for spring and summer, designers, buyers and editors alike are busy prepping ahead. And since we know y’all like to keep ahead of the curve, we’ve sorted through hundreds of photos and selected 10 of the top Fall 2013 trends so that you can mentally prep (and save) too!
Next season, it’s all about fur, which landed in both faux and real on runways including Marni, JW Anderson, and most strikingly at Fendi, where it was combined in a dizzying multitude of punky ways. The 1990s were back for another resurgence, continuing Spring 2013’s grunge trend at Saint Laurent in Paris and Chloé Comme Parris right here at home. On the street, the look was easily created by many fashion week attendees who layered plaids on waists, under jackets and even on tights. And while practically speaking, it may be no major surprise that outerwear was one of the top Fall 2013 trends, this show season we saw jackets take on new forms with quilting, oversized shapes and bold colours which were mirrored outside the shows, with equally interesting choices hitting the pavement
Here are 100 images to help jog your memory of the top Fall 2013 trends spotted inside and outside of the fashion week stents, so sit back, click through, and relive the fashion month in all its street style and runway glory.

The fashion flock has flown the coop! With Fall 2013 already at an almost-end in London (there’s no such thing as a long weekend during fashion week) this offbeat batch of street style photos from London-based photographer Shirin Fathi will have to quench your street style thirst (until tomorrow that is). Certainly the quirkest city style on the fashion show map, London showed its true colours once again with fashion week showgoers wearing bright colour blends of cobalt blue, pylon orange and acid green as well as being the first to try a head-to-toe Mary Katrantzou from the designer’s postcard-heavy Spring 2013 collection. London showgoers were also the first (we’ve seen in daylight) to break out the champagne while gawking outside the shows, and to them we offer a toast right back. To Fall 2013 (and those adorable Mickey Mouse ears spotted here!)

Chanel’s hula hoop bag! Anna Dello Russo in head-to-toe Prada! A post-Rodarte psychedelic ombré! Boy, are there ever some treasures to behold in today’s batch of street style photos out of New York Fashion Week. All that realness we talked about on Friday seems to have poof! melted with the snow—fashion’s show ponies are truly working for their place in the Fall 2013 spotlight.
While capturing the latest from street style regulars Susie Bubble, Miroslava Duma, Man Repeller Leandra Medine and Shala Monroque ducking in and out of It ticket shows including Rodarte, Narciso Rodriguez and Kate Middleton-favourite Jenny Packham, a few old favourites made their return to our the Fall 2013 radar. Case in point: the newly blond Ulyana Sergeenko, who with regal walker in tow, looked every bit as poster princess for Moscow’s matryoshka doll society as ever. Oh, to be a pore on that skin.
