Pinterest is going to Fashion Week! Top brands and bloggers will be pinning from New York, London, Milan and Paris
Listen up scrapbook enthusiasts. Pinterest is going all access for fashion week and the news may have just made our day.
Collaborating with 100 fashion influencers, from designers to magazines to big-time bloggers (Oscar de la Renta, Michael Kors, Phillip Lim, Harper’s Bazaar, Garance Doré, Man Repeller), Pinterest’s fashion week hub is giving us the front row seat at fashion shows, behind the scenes, street style looks and designers’ inspirations.
Since its launch three years ago, the social media platform’s popularity has grown immensely and with more than two million fashion pins each day, there is no doubt it has also been the place to get inspired for fashion.
We’ve already seen how much the platform has transformed the connection between brands and followers: Oscar PR Girl has been live pinning Oscar de la Renta’s fashion shows for the past few seasons and J.Crew just previewed its fall lookbook exclusively for pinners. So it comes as no surprise when Pinterest decided to join in on the biggest fashion event of the year by giving its members a whole new way to experience the most exciting time of the season.

CFDA Awards 2013: Our recap of the winners, the red carpet outfits and more
See photos from the CFDA Awards 2013 »
The who’s who of fashion piled into the Lincoln Centre’s Alice Tully Hall last night for the CFDA Awards 2013 in New York City. For those who are a little unfamiliar to the event, the ceremony is to the fashion industry what the Grammys are to music. Let’s just say, you’re more likely to see Zac Posen on the red carpet, that you are J Biebs.
From Hilary Rhoda’s Helmut Lang number to Nicole Richie’s metallic maxi, the red carpet saw fashions finest (accompanied by their favourite six-foot-tall friends) in a variety of daring ensembles. Adriana Lima’s floor sweeping Givenchy frock left little to the imagination with its sheer skirt, while Jessica Chastain’s little black after-party-ready dress looked fabulous with her main accessory, Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci, whom she later presented the international award to. Erin Wasson looked positively futuristic in her edgy Alexander Wang gown while Miranda Kerr supported the boys at Proenza Schouler with a stunning blue mini by the label. Kerr’s fellow Victoria’s Secret angel Candice Swanepoel accompanied a very lucky Prabal Gurung to the event. Poor Michael Kors, who couldn’t decide on which model-friend to be his plus one, ended up bringing two dazzling dates, Karolina Kurkova and Cody Horn, who wore shimmering pieces from his collection. Meanwhile, Mary-Kate Olsen swapped sisters for the night, dressing Elizabeth Olsen in The Row while she stuck to her vintage penchant in Issey Miyake.

The best of Resort 2014: We snapshot the best mid-season offerings from Gucci, Dior, Oscar de la Renta and more
See the best of Resort 2014 here »
From Singapore to New York, in just a few short weeks the new Resort 2014 collections have taken us from one side of the planet to the other. So far, the collections are getting us excited for those fictitious rising temperatures designers seem to believe exist in January.
Both Tory Burch and Moschino’s Cheap and Chic lines kept things above-the-knee, offering a selection of short shorts and playful minis. Burch’s Moroccan influenced collection featured an exotic array of colourful vacation-ready prints while Moschino Cheap and Chic amped up the fun factor with floral prints and tie-dyes. On the runway at Christian Dior an equally flashy collection featured florals, lace and ladylike silhouettes not to mention intense colour blocking.

Swim 2013: Dive into this season’s trends with 30 runway-inspired bathing suits
Or jump to: BLACK | CUT OUTS | METALLIC | RETRO | STRIPES
Finally, summer is just around the corner and surf, sand and sunscreen are words we’re thrilled to bring back into our vocabulary. We’ve got four glorious months of swimsuit potential just around the corner and to help you prep, we’ve got 30 must-have new styles for the swim 2013 season. While we can’t promise to make the changeroom experience any easier, we can take the guesswork out of choosing a suit that will make the biggest splash poolside.
Look to the runway for inspiration and test the waters in a brand-new bather. From bright shades to solid stripes, we are drawing inspiration from Rochas’ dainty outing to Burberry’s metallics.
On the runway, Michael Kors showed us a sporty take on stripes with a lake-ready colour-blocked style. At Moschino Cheap and Chic, the theme was floral, with hints of Hawaii. And if colour ain’t your thing, Jason Wu made us want to buy a one-way ticket to Saint Tropez when he sent a glammed up little-black-one-piece down the runway with an ultra-feminine cover up worn over top.

Discounts for all! Kate Spade, J.Crew, Hudson’s Bay and more will open at Toronto Premium Outlets
There’s no longer a need for Canadians to line up at the border for hours just so we can take advantage of the many great American outlet malls. This summer, Southern Ontario will have an outlet mall of its own, full of top tier brands and retailers: Toronto Premium Outlets—owned by Simon’s Premium Outlets, the company behind discount shopping destinations in Las Vegas, Palm Springs and Orlando—is set to open just outside of Toronto.
Anchored by a Hudson’s Bay outlet, Toronto Premium Outlets will include everything from fashion brands, like Michael Kors and J.Crew, to home furnishing stores, like Restoration Hardware. And we haven’t even gotten to the best part! The centre will have the first outlet stores in Canada for some cult favourites and top tier designer brands.

Met Gala 2013: The 25 best dressed on fashion’s most important red carpet
See the Met Gala 2013 red carpet photos »
The build up to this year’s Met Gala has been major. Designers, celebrities and the fashion elite have been scrambling to piece together a look that fits the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s theme, PUNK: Chaos to Couture and while admittedly, the punk-inspired looks were few and far between, we were certainly thrilled with a few.
Channeling her own recent V Magazine cover, Miley Cyrus went latter day Debbie Harry with platinum blonde spikes and a long fishnet Marc Jacobs dress. Anne Hathaway debuted a similarly bleached bob alongside her date and dresser for the night, Valentino Garavani, sending the twittersphere in a tizzy.
Co-chairs of the event Riccardo Tisci and Rooney Mara went punk-light with Mara in a beautifully detailed white lace Givenchy dress and a pop of crimson on the lips.
Also wearing Givenchy was none other than Beyoncé—the honourary chairperson for this year’s event. Pairing her custom-designed strapless black and gold printed gown with blinged out boots in the same shade, Queen Bey proved for her second year in a row that last on the red carpet is always best.
After finally receiving the Anna Wintour nod of approval, Kim Kardashian made an appearance at the Met Gala 2013 in a floral-print Givenchy dress with baby-daddy, Kanye West at her side.
Someone who is more known for consistently nailing red carpet looks than Kimye, is Emma Watson and she hit a high note yet again in a skin-bearing Prabal Gurung dress with a single silver drop earring hanging from her left ear.
And while Kristen Stewart has held fast to her role as the face of Balenciaga’s Florabotanica, she strayed from the house’s new wears, opting instead, for a crimson Stella McCartney pantsuit.
So who was the best dressed at the Met Gala 2013? Vote in our poll!

Michael Kors hits Toronto! Inside the designer’s whirlwind trip
See the photos from Michael Kors’ Toronto visit »
“Just when you thought you had everything, along comes a camouflage mink stole,” drawled Michael Kors, as a model glided into Holt Renfrew’s café in an outfit from his Fall 2013 collection.
The mini-show followed lunch for 20 or so top clients at Holt’s Cafe yesterday following a fête at his Bloor Street store on Wednesday night, with hostess Hilary Weston presiding over the affair in an aqua Oscar de la Renta tunic and pants.
Elsewhere there was much Michael Kors Spring 2013 about, including a dermatologist in a colourblock dress, and a capital markets trader a peony pink sheath. After tucking into sweet pea ravioli, lobster over fried green tomatoes and a sliver of cheesecake, there was an exodus downstairs to the racks of fall clothes available for special order.

Fashion by Age: 59 ways to wear florals in your twenties, thirties and beyond
Or see fashion by age: IN YOUR 20s | IN YOUR 30s| IN YOUR 40s | IN YOUR 50s | IN YOUR 60s | IN YOUR 70s
How important is it to dress age appropriately? This is a question that, when asked, will generate a variety of different answers. Fashion by age is hardly a new phenomenon, but the contrast between what is or is not appropriate for certain ages has changed overtime. There may be some styles that are thought to be more suited to one age over another, but as we all know by now, fashion is never that black and white.
Keeping that in mind, check out our selection of the best spring pieces that work for a variety of different ages. From bright printed pants to classic blazers, these beautiful bouquet pieces can work for any age.

And that hair? Eat your heart out, Vidal Sassoon.

MTV Movie Awards 2013: Our 6 picks for best dressed on the red carpet
See the MTV Movie Awards red carpet photos »
Last night, some of our favourite young starlets and celebrities hit the red carpet for the MTV Movie Awards where they handed out and were awarded 2013’s batch of golden popcorn statues for their important work as “best villain” and “best kiss.”
As with most red carpets that are skewed towards teens, there were some major misses by so many “stars” we have never actually heard of, but we will skip those in favour of those who hit it out of the park. MTV’s House of Style host Karlie Kloss looked like a smokeshow in a two-piece Cushnie and Ochs ensemble. The white-hot bodycon ensemble was finished off with a pair of Gucci heels. To boot, her new-to-2013 cropped bob was looking superb with an accentuated part. Zoe Saldana also showed off some skin in a Givenchy Fall 2013 (hell yes to friends in high places) look that matched florals with sheer polka dots and a thigh-high slit.
Chloe Grace Moretz was a denim dream in a patchwork Louis Vuitton dress and studded T-strap heels. She kept her beauty on the simple and age-appropriate side with a messy waterfall of curls and fresh faced skin. On the complete flip side, simple was not the name of the game for Selena Gomez who wore an embellished Julien Macdonald mini dress with a bouffant that transitioned into a side-braid.
